It's unlikely that HAL will get 777's. but for those of us who live in Hawaii, it sure would be nice.

I don't know Chris... If they are indeed retiring their DC-10's why NOT a 777? It would make more sense economically... Of course so would 767's! United uses those right now between LA and Hawaii.

nice job... especially like the continued use of flowers on the engine nacelles!

The 767-300 is the more likely choice to replace the DC-10. However, the name will probably move from below the window line to above it as pictured here.

actually ... they are investigating the 764

This rendering is probably closer to the real thing, if and when it happens.

I can't wait to find out what HA chooses to replace the DC-10.

Question

I anticipate the decision for HAL to replace the current DC-10 fleet will come soon because they are flying some of the oldest DC-10's around today.

Personally, I'd like to see them in 777's, although 763/4's are more likely.

Mahalo's to HNL-Chris, at least we have an idea what it'll look like in the end too.

Thumbs up

They are really beautiful! I think it would be great to see the livery on A340 too with colourful purple engines.

Default I would hate to see any interisland airline merge with the mainland ones!

Keep the Hawaiian carriers seperate from mainlanders!

Lightbulb I agree!

I may be a lowly Haole ( i hope I spelled that right), but I have to agree with the above. Aloha and Hawaiian should stay seperate from ANY other airliner.

Post O-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ld Airliners

Speaking of Hawaiian's DC-10s, I recently flew on one from LAX to Tahiti ... and man ... is she an old bird!

Enjoy the pic!
