Lightbulb You don't suppose American will fly the A380, do you?

If American Airlines decided to join as an A380 launch customer, I think it would it look like this:

...and THAT folks is ALOT of polishing!

I think that redefines the term "Aluminum Overcast"! Nice rendering, Dar! I see you have some time on your hands, huh?

You know, do you think airlines will redesign their liveries for the A380? That second deck to me throws some liveries off, such as the Singapore Airlines' cheatlines.

Some of the Eurowhite/non cheatline liveries will probably do okay on this beast of a jet, but I'm not so sure about cheatline-type schemes. You're in the graphics field, what do you think?

... Or maybe an American A380 in a retro scheme

You are right on the money Doc. It DOES pose a challenge to getting the livery to "look right" on it as opposed to more conventionally proportioned craft.

On this AA for instance, I made the cheatlines MUCH thicker than on other A/C. I also have the passenger windows on the lower deck in the white instead of the blue as other AA A/C do. I thought of carying them even higher, but it started to look funny. AA runs the blue line through the cockpit as much as they can, so I started with that and continued on... That seemed to help keep the "fleet consistancy" look. The titles on this are MUCH bigger relative to the cheatlines than on other AA craft. And the logo on that MASSIVE tail! Sheesh!

The Singapore livery is tricky, and they are going to have a real tough time making it work right, but just as the 747 was tough to do in it's day, Designers will get this one looking good too... You're right about the EuroWhit look though... no problem on this beast!

Would be neat if AA bought this beast but they couldn't even make a 747 work for them so I doubt an A380 would do much better and second because of the european alumininum we'd get a bunch of matte grey or white similar to the A300's and not the shiny aluminum which is really beautiful to see.

The A380 is one aircraft I think actually looks better in just the boring eurowhite scheme.

AMERICAN will never buy the A-380. They have no need for it. If they need a bigger plane, they'll get a 747. Besides, they have an awesome contract with Boeing.

Neat pictures though!

I believe that a380 is more suitable for the city of Europe but not america. A number of small plane like 737 will be better than a enormous a380 in the us.
