This thread will be used for quick database updates. Everyone can post here but most updates will come from the DB team. No stories needed, just really quick messages to let everyone know what is happening behind the scenes and who is doing what.
I'll start off with some updates. I'll post some more later and hopefully we can get most of you guys to help out.
Over the past 2 months, Chris Moon has been sending us photos from his collection. Thanks Chris, the photos look great, as usual!
Also, Chris helped us to correct some of the information in the DB.
- Model number IF5763019 changed to IF5763020
- Registration numbers of Aeroclassics Airbus A320-211’s: VH-AYA & VH-AYC changed to VH-HYA & VH-HYC (Chris: "Aeroclassics noticed the mistake after they were printed in China and on doing so recalled them all, but needless to say some did escape.")

As we all know, the Wings900 database really is one of a kind and there’s nothing else out there quite like it. Search in Google for “model plane database” and it’s the first result in the list. I also think - and am pretty sure you will all agree - that the database makes Wings900 and DAC into what they are today and are at the centre of the community.
Currently we have about 23,000 models listed there, but there are so many others still out there that we can add to it – and not just civilian aircraft, either. Pretty much everything that can fly and which people collect should be in our database. If anyone is interested in getting into collecting planes, regardless of what type, scale, material or anything else, the Wings database should be the place they can start out and learn more. Attracting new blood to the community and the hobby is also what helps keep it alive.
As such, we’ve been thinking about setting database-growing targets for ourselves and working towards achieving them. We really hope that you guys can help us out with this.
- 95% photo completeness
- 30,000 models by March
- 50,000 models by end of 2011
To help achieve the first one, we will shortly publish a list of items that are missing 1 or more photos. Hopefully this will make it easier for you guys to browse through the items and take photos of the model you have in your collection.

Just made some corrections on model # 24507 and added some photos for 23526.

One more update. About 2 months ago we put together a bulk upload spreadsheet. This allows us to, well the name says it already, to bulk upload data to the database.
I sent this spreadsheet to Paul Howard from Helmet Historical Aircraft 200 and he is going to add about 200 custom made, 1:200 scale models. Why custom? Because they look good, and why not? If people collect it, it should be in our database. Every plane collector is welcome on our sites. Thanks Paul.

The brand new Western Reeve Aleutian L-188 Combi isn´t in the database so far. The only RAA listed is the pax version CA 9F but the combi version (CA 9F2) isn´t there yet.

Hey thanks for the heads up. Last year I tried to fly on the LH JU-52 Tante Ju in Berlin and Munich but there wasn´t flights avaiable in the 10 days time I was there. A couple of months ago I went to Miami and the Eastern DC-7 had just departured to NYC to a show. One month later I again left Brazil bound to NYC and the DC-7 was flying back to Miami. Damn.
But next year I will get this Connie !!!! Wish me luck.

would you add this on database, it seems Phoenix noticable from the box and plastic cradle, I just found this on ebay but not on database

Mistaken painting. The real aircraft had the right side with basic VARIG colors (Star Alliance stickers were applied only on the left side, as done on 1:400 Magic model).
