DAC Forum Rules

Welcome to DAC forums!

There is no charge for opening an account or using these forums. However, we do ask you to visit our sponsors as they help us keep this site up for you.

Our goal is to bring you an independent web site run by collectors. This site is not run by, owned by, or financed by a manufacturer, online store or other retail operation. This site is for collectors and is run with collectors in mind - we do not have a hidden agenda and we are not looking to sell you anything.

Your Membership is private. It is for you only and you may not share your username and password with anyone else. We reserve the right to revoke your membership without warning if you severely violate the below rules or in other ways severely hurt, threaten, or misuse DAC. Your membership incorporates our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. We are committed to your privacy.

Although we try very hard to keep the site and services up and running at all times, we make no guarantees. We can not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error free. We do encourage feedback so if you have an issue or would like to report a technical problem, please visit the DAC Chat forum or send us an email by clicking the Contact Us link at the bottom of the web page.

Please read the forum rules thoroughly before posting. Our forums are moderated so we can continue to bring you and the collector community top quality, accurate topics, in-depth discussions, and breaking news related to the hobby. .

The owners and moderators of DAC cannot review every message posted. The rules and guidelines have been designed to make your visit to DAC as enjoyable as possible. We promote a clean, healthy and respectful environment where members are not afraid to ask questions or engage in friendly and courteous discussions. If you believe that a post violates one of the rules, please bring it to our attention.

As a member of DAC, you are expected to review and comply with the following rules. Violating these rules may result in various sanctions, from the removal of your post to the suspension of your membership. The length of this suspension is determined by the Moderators and depends on the severity of the offense. Repeat offenders may be permanently banned.

Forum members are given the privilege to select custom user titles and signatures. User titles and signatures should not antagonize, provoke, slander, abuse or intimidate others. Profanity is generally not acceptable and must not appear in signatures or custom user titles. Using a custom user title or signature to impersonate a DA.C Team Member is also prohibited, and will result in immediate account suspension and/or banning from the site

From time to time, we may revise, update or change the terms of the rules. We will do our best to communicate any changes, but it remains the responsibility of members to keep up to date concerning the rules.

FORUM RULES

General Rules

We reserve the right to cancel your membership and forum username without justification if you violate the rules or cause harm in any way to DAC.

The messages in this discussion forum express the views of their author and not necessarily that of DAC or any associated entity. You remain solely responsible for everything you post. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DAC and their agents with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s).

We reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you. Your IP address is logged and we reserve the right to track you using this information in the case of any pressing concern.

You agree that you will not use this discussion forum to post any statement or photo which knowingly includes: false, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, misogynistic, sexualised, denigrating, objectifing, obscene, profane, graphic, threatening, xenophobic, racist, pornographic, or is invasive of a person's privacy or otherwise in violation of any law.

All religious and political talk is no longer permitted on this site. If any such thread is posted it will be deleted and the member may be suspended and/or banned from DAC without warning.

Do not post slanderous or defamatory statements. These include, but are not limited to, false or malicious statements injurious to a person's reputation, job, family, or private life.

We reserve the right to delete, without explanation and entirely at our discretion, any post, thread or user for any or no reason.

Posts

Posts will be judged on their value and contribution to the topic of conversation. Low quality posts will be removed without warning.

Respect the opinions of others and choose your words wisely. Each user has their own point of view, and these views must be respected.

Word all criticism in a polite and constructive manner. Criticism which serves no purpose other than to incite or insult other DAC members will not be tolerated.

If a topic becomes a debate, you may debate the subject itself. Do not debate the credibility, motives, or intellect of other DAC members.

As this is an international website, messages must be written in English and must be easy to read.

Do not insult, flame, or otherwise provoke other users or incite trouble. Do not allow others to provoke you.

Photo threads are not to be used for model bashing. Another thread can be opened to show the shortfalls of the model and have healthy discussions on them. Photos need to be used with owner consent only. Threads/post will be removed if owner’s permissions have not been taken

Should a user antagonize, provoke, slander or intimidate you, DO NOT retaliate. You are expected to comply with the rules no matter what - and "He started it" is NOT an excuse.

Report abusive posts.

Post in the correct forum. Posts or threads may be moved to more appropriate forums without notice.

Never post the same topic in more than one forum.

Do not relaunch inflammatory subjects or threads by creating new ones on the same topic.

Please use a descriptive title for your topics.

If your post or thread has been deleted, please do not view this as a personal attack against you by the moderators.

Swear words are acceptable ONLY when used in context and when it can be considered "motivated" i.e. to emphasize a point. It is not acceptable to use them gratuitously or aimed at other members. Swear words that have been masked with wildcards such as *** or misspelled (A$$) are as unacceptable as unmasked words and are subject to the same rules.

Do not post links to other sites which compete directly with the mission of DAC. You may mention them, but do not post links to them.

Advertising and Copyrights

Copyrighted material from other websites, newspapers, magazines and journals are not allowed. If you are the copyright holder of material posted on the forum and would like it to be removed, please contact the moderators.

No retail advertising is to be posted. If you are a retailer, you may contact us for advertising rates.

If you have model airplanes or related material that you'd like to sell or trade and are not a commercial dealer, then you may post a link to it in the Model Trader Forum. Links to eBay are allowed as long as it is clearly stated in the subject line by using the forum prefix. DAC is not responsible for any trading or sales activities between its members.

Your Account

You are responsible for the security of your user name/password. Excuses for unauthorized posts such as "someone guessed my password" or "I forgot to log out at the library" will not be accepted.

Your membership is private. It is for you only and you may not share your username and password with anyone else.

All members are allowed a single account and username only. Multiple memberships are not acceptable on DAC. Any Member found with multiple accounts will have ALL accounts deleted immediately without warning.

You are required to have a valid email address listed within your DAC profile. In the event that your account has an invalid email, your account may be suspended or deleted without warning.

Communication with Other DAC Members

All correspondence between current DAC members and the moderators is confidential. Any communication is not to be shared or distributed without the express written consent of the involved member and moderator(s).

Any emails to the moderators should include your screen name and your real name.

If you'd like to send a personal message to another user, do not post it in the forums. Please use the Private Message features.

Any abuse of the Private Message or contact forms features will result in suspension. The content of personal messages and emails sent via DAC are subject to the same rules as forum posts.

If you have asked a member not to contact you and contact via the DAC continues, please notify the moderators. Be prepared to provide screen captures of the correspondence as we have no access to your private messages.

Members may not be contacted via their profiles for the purpose of advertising or promoting of other sites.

Personal messages between DAC members are private and are not to be shared on DAC

You may not post any personal information about a member on the forums without the express written consent of the person involved. Even if you want to let the collecting community know about a bad trader, posting the person's real full name, address and phone number is prohibited. Such violations may result in the suspension of your account.

Emails from moderators or other current members may not be copied into forum threads or elsewhere for public review.
