Default Fedex complaint

I shipped a 1/50 model via Fedex and insured it. Model arrived late to the recipient and was broken. Fedex was responsible for the damage yet will not assume liability. So my words to other collectors out there. Don't ship via Fedex, if they break it and you've insured it you won't receive any compensation. They'll simply list a model as "fragile" so they won't be liable. I've learned a very expensive lesson.

I've had nothing but good experiences with FedEx. I've had some of my best customer service with them especially when they mis-routed a parcel and I was leaving out of town, I must've recieved over 6 phone calls to let me know what was going on. My worst dealings have been with UPS, every company has its good and its bad.

Sorry Marvin, I know you are all Fed Ex , but I have had nothing but bad experiences with these guys, the 1st time I saw on the tracer that they delivered to the wrong address, they apologized because the street they delivered to began with an H just like mine, I reminded them I lived in the H section, ALL the streets begin with H. They then told me shipper had to file a complaint, I couldn,t. The second time they tried to deliver when I wasn,t home, they left a card, I filled it out so they could leave it the next day, they didn,t return for 2 days, and they just left another card. Finally they left the package and it was smashed in one corner, the Cathy 743 inside had 2 engines broken off and the nose wheel broken off. The third time they left the package after the card thing again and it was flat as a pancake, I just returned it unopened. I didn't do much business with these retailers but was considering it at the time, I E-mailed them that if they insisted on using Fed Ex, I wouldn't order anymore from them, they never answered, I never ordered from them again. Maybe Fed Ex is good in other parts of the country, but they are a disaster on Long Island.

AHHH, that feels better, I've had that inside for a long time now. ARRRGHH!!!

The package has yet to be returned but from what I've heard nothing serious. The box must've been dropped because one of the engines snapped off during shipment. I feel that Fedex should compensate me for what happened. A 1200.00 model has just been reduced in it's value thanks to them. I used all the original packing material and box that came with the model when it first arrived from AMI in the UK.

Default They are ALL BAD!

All carriers have their problems! When it's not DAMAGE is MIS-PLACED or LOST! In my years of collecting I've had the opportunity to use the U.S. Postal Services, U.P.S. DHL and FEDEX! And I can assure you that at any given time you may experience some sort of inconvenience or problem.

However, I have never had any problems with filing a claim and getting paid for the claim. ADAMJets. Com uses FEDEX as the preferred carrier. And we can not say that it's been flawless. Some problems have occurred. But FEDEX has all ways been there to respond and handle the situation. Unfortunately, you can please some of the people some of the time. But you can't please everyone all of the time.

I've never had anything broken or lost but my issue with FedEx and UPS is they're so slow in delivering.

I have shipped over 500 models using USPS Priority mail, none broken or lost and all are delivered in two days anywhere in the US.

FedEx and UPS take a least a week and sometimes 10-12 days to arrive.

I'll stick with the US postal service

Default Usps!

USPS! A/k/a United States Postal Service: REDICULOUS! This is the best word I can use on this site to describe their Services. Don’t know about your part of the country. But have you tried visiting one of their postal offices lately. You're lucky if you don't spend at least thirty minutes on line! And God forbid you have the wrong label or form on your letter/package!

Using the USPS!

They also supply free boxes and tape.......sorry but no other service comes close for the money.

Yep, I'm in there several times a week, I know what times they are not busy and 99% of the time there is no line and as Nick said, free box's, free tape, free labels all ordered online and delivered to my house, all FREE!

Plus, two day delivery in the US, can't beat 'em!

FREE! FREE! Nothing is FREE my friend! You may think you're getting it FREE!
Don't know about your part of the country. But here in Miami! On average It takes about thirty minutes of your time to stand in line to process anything at the postal office. And that's after you have been fighting traffic for another twenty minutes to get there.

And it does not matter what time of day you're visiting. As to having it picked up! it's a $12.00/USD charge per package for pickup!

And God forbid you subscribe to any of the available third party services!
You not only have to pay for their serivces.
You also have to provide/purchase the specialty labels required by the USPS! Like I said before Been there, Done That!

Now you can print and pay postage online for USPS, once attached to the box you can hand your packages to a postman or go to the PO and just drop them off without standing in line, also you get free delivery confirmation if you pay online.

Must be the pit falls of living in Florida......

My post office branch is a couple blocks away and there is never a line at the time of day I go. Not much fighting traffic here, again, all what time I go. and no, you don't have to have any special label for Priority mail, just have priority tape around the package which they DO provide for free along with FREE box's, FREE labels.......

I've been doing this for many years my friend without any trouble, waiting or slow delivery service like FedUPS!

Of course, the cost of living is about half here as in Florida too but we won't go there

290 models recieved, only 10 or so by FDX or UPS, the remainder USPS. Can only remember one model damaged via USPS and that was largely due to the way the shipper packed it.Three were damaged FDX/UPS and one was refused because of the way the package was crushed.Theres a lot to be said for being able to order on-line on Monday and have the model on your door step by Wednesday. That has happened with FDX/UPS but unfortunatley it was the Wednesday of the following week. FDX takes eight days to go from MIA to Long Island, UPS about the same, absolutely unacceptable in this day and age.

No problem with express shipments, but for ground, my local Fedex guy trows the boxes into my house if the door is open. It's like he doesn't even care if anything is fragile.

Keep in mind that FedEx ground is actually RPS employees driving FedEx trucks.

Someone is blowing smoke up your rear end!

My carrier picks up my packages for FREE. I use regular paper in my laser printer to print the labels....there is no requirement to use USPS labels.

I pay NOTHING to use USPS Priority Mail service and the customers pay the postage.

The system works.....you just have to know how to use it.

OK, nice that you all go in defence of your boyfriends, very sweet.

Now, the question is how can this kind of experience be avoided? There is a way to ship a package with a real insurance that would cover what happened to Funbird?

How about a bigger/stronger box? I just got a box from China, yes China. Nice and fresh via the chinese postal service and delivered via USPS to my house in ten days. The box, wasn't too big but with good stuffing

Best Regards!!!

Neil ! I understand that the majority of my orders just don't fit in the three different sizes of "Priority Boxes". Which are available from the USPS. ANd Unlike you're part of the country in this area. You still must take the pacakges to the postal office. Unless youre' willing to pay an additional service charge for pickup.

But I still don't understand why we're arguing about this! You use the USPS and provide your customers with their services. I will continue to use FEDEX and provide my Customers with their Services. That's why we all have choices!
