@Aussiejets, you are linking from the whole album, not the individual images. Right click one, and "open in new tab". That will bring up the link for the specific image

Just an FYI, we've also lifted the restrictions on uploading attachments directly to threads. We'd prefer you do that instead of finding another hosting site, so that maybe we can avoid the same debacle we're going through now in the future

I updated the attached image size, it takes awhile to update throughout the site. Once it's done, the attached images should appear bigger.

G'day Robertjon5,

If you or any member clicks the mouse tab on the thumbnail it opens up and fills the page. So don't panic, full size pics have always been available simply by clicking on any thumbnail on site.

Cheers Lou

Can we have any icon directly in the toolbar to easily attach images from our computers, preferably by user-friendly Drag and drop system?

And also - would it be possible to make working embedding Youtube videos into the forum?

You also don't have to just have your uploaded images show as a thumbnail at the bottom of the screen. There is a way to have them load inline with text

Following instructions in my screenshot

Should already be a feature I feel. I'll see what can be done.

Thanks for info, Kevin.

1. Does it mean that from now on there are no limits to uploaded images?

2. If so, I still see Max Filesize, Max Width and Max Height in "Manage Attachments" window, which tells that there are still limitations. Is that correct?

Moreover current uploading system is still not very much user-friendly and less convenient than using hosting sites - if I want to attach some picture, I would like to: a) only Drag and Drop the file and nothing more - I don´t want to go through all that Browse your computer and finding one particular image in my very large photo library. b) I also don´t want to check if every picture fits to 800x600 px limit, I would prefer to drag and drop picture and not taking care how big it is - in the same easy way as if I´m using hosting site. Is it possible to improve forum´s current attaching system to be as easy as described? Otherwise I´m afraid most members will prefer using some user-friendly hosting sites....

I meant that there is no limit to how MANY images you upload, but there aren't many restrictions on files either. Current max file size for pics is 10mb. Should be enough to cover most pics

I pulled those image size restrictions off. Shouldn't be a problem for uploading anymore. Will still resize it a bit to make it fit with the forum layout, but if you select images that are bigger to open in a new tab, then you'll get the big pic in all it's glory.

There are site software upgrades we could add that would, among others things, add the same "Drag n Drop" feature that you like. However, that upgrade is on hiatus, as some very bothersome glitches popped up with it. So consider it on the "Wish List", but something that I can't tell you when it will be added. Better not touch anything with it till we are sure it's not going to make things worse off.

Ok, thanks for information. I really think that there are many things to improve on DA.C forum in order to make it more easily to use, less annoying to control and more attractive for members.

Among some other things these items should include:
1. Completing easy insertion of the pictures as already being discussed in this thread (Drag ´n Drop feature)

2. Easier browsing and controlling of the forum via mobile phones and tablets:
2.1 Return to Top button: creating Return to Top button for easy return on Top of the page. This arrow could be "sticky" such as eBay website uses, or being a part of each post - beside Quote, Multiquote and Quick Reply buttons. This or either way, the "Top" button will surely soon be one of the most used buttons, especially on mobile devices, but also on PC.
2.2 Last Page button: larger button to easier Go to the last page (or Last post), which everybody seeks first. There is already way how to get on last page, but current system isn´t very convenient.
2.3 In email notifications received about new replies "Reply to thread..." on my smartphone there are no clickable links to the posts directly (just "plain" www address, but not clickable). On my PC the links are clickable, no problem, but on my mobile phone not (somebody please confirm if the links aren´t clickable on their smartphones too).

3. Embedding videos feature (waiting for confirmation as this is already processed as Case #2650414)

4. Maybe there could be created some more sections within the forum such as How to..., Code 3´s, Display cabinets, Helicopters maybe, etc. to have some themes of general interest nicely on one place and not hidden in myriads of threads....OTOH some sections maybe need re-working - in the very first section of DA.C forum New Arrivals Board there are newest contributions from 2015 (!) and most of the posts are from 2012 (!).

5. Maybe you could also increase number of entries in Latest Threads on the right side of the page and delete Models of the Week window (not sure how active this window is)? - just suggestion....

6. I would welcome also more smilies available when replying, among others just a normal smilie without any winks, big grins and red mouths, then "Thank you" smilie, some Yippie stuff, "You´re awesome", "Wow" smiley etc.

Not sure - should I better create new thread about all these points?

Thanks, L.

A lot of these could come with a site upgrade if we want to go that route. Is that worth a discussion?
