Default 1/100 Westway Models refinish from old Lufthansa t

So I got this model off eBay a month or 2 ago, and it was in bad shape as you can see. So after I was done with the DC10 that I was working on, I got stuck into this one. I used Citristrip this time rather than Easyoff or Simple Green or any other paint remover. I let the Citristrip do its work, although it’s messy. I then sanded down the rough bits and the smoothed our the surface with a smoothing cloth. After painting, it came out pretty well. Looks good in the SR bandit colors.

Excellent. A stunning looking model, well worth the effort.

Fabulous work and likewise would love to know whose decals you used. Also never heard of citristrip, thanks for that.

Fantastic job! A ton of work in fumes over a tub, fine sand and paint and I imagine weeks to do it. Then to find a clean room to apply the decals with steady hands and a great eye. I have a great respect for those of you who can do this.

I had never seen a Swiss Air B747 in person and never noticed the "eyeliner" effect with the black glare shield on the nose until I viewed your model. Very interesting.

The decals were Two-six that we’re resized for 1/100 scale

It’s one of the reasons I love Two-Six. They’re well measured, durable, and overlap well. I’m a stickler for the perfect look and fit. If it looks bad, it will eat at me with disappointment to where I almost never want to see the model again. But this one I really like.
