Default Aeroclassic aa 720b

Hi folks,
I have just discovered this new AEROCLASSIC 720B release . Thanks god I did not buy the IF 200´s one . I am too disappointed by the IF 200 707-120 and 720 models ( nose , engines , Tails .... ) . The AC 200 720Bs are really fine models to my eyes .

Congrats on finding a real gem. I agree, the InFlight mould is not for me as well. The days of substituting polish with silver paint are over. There is no excuse except for laziness and/or disinterest by the manufacturer. Oh, and yes, the wings are beautiful too.

Were some 720B's done without the tail antenna?
I think I recall a few United being like that.

Yes indeed, not all B720-B's had the tail antenna.I have done a search on the web.

On www.jetphotos.com I found some photos of the AA B720-B's without the tail antenna.
One of the photos is of B720-B reg N7528A (like one of the models) in the test livery (in 1968) without the eagle on the tail and without the tail antenna.

Both models are looking very nicely done.

When the aircraft were used on domestic flights with full VHF coverage, the HF equipments were redundant.
On some aircraft the HF and its antenna on the vertical fin were removed.

Thanks for that bit o' info, Jean Pierre. In other words, "those of you who have a diorama at home representing an airport outside of the U.S. may need to look for an antenna."

Just concerning the HF antenna set on the tail , the ones not provided with were these 2 types :

The 720-023B delivered to AA
The 707-131B delivered to TWA

Yes nice 720 tooling Aeroclassic's have there. The email I had from Collectors aircraft models Australia said that the livery on N7528A (see the pictures posted above by robertjon5) N7528A is a American Airlines prototype livery model. You can note there is no eagle on the tail, no titles under the flight deck and the title "American" seems a little bigger on the prototype

The ARD announcement is misleading, there is no B 707-120.

The N7528A was a B 720-023 which was later converted to the B standard by the manufacturer.
The N 7548A was a B 720-023B built as a B and not converted from an earlier version.

Ordered mine as well. I opted for N 7548A. Both are beautiful releases. Now please bring on the Capital Connie! And speaking of classics, I'm curious to see how the Herpa DC-4 mold looks. It would be great if they would release a Capital DC-4 and Viscount on that beautiful mold they have. The Hobbymaster Capital Viscount is abysmal.
