Default New Models- 1/100 Braniff Flying Colors and others

Posting some acquisitions from this past weekend...Will likely sell a couple like the TWA Air Jet Advanced and the Texas 1:144 737 as I want to mostly focus on Pacmin 1/100 models. If anyone knows where I can source a stand for the PanAm 727 it would be much appreciated...I think its a Pacmin 1:144 or 150? I really like the model but not how it sits lol. Any help or knowledge from the pros here on any of these would be very much appreciated. Calder will also be heading to ebay to help fund the rest.

Lake Central DC-3- Make/Scale?
Eastern Super G-Make/Scale?
TWA Air Jet 1:200
Pacmin 1/100 Delta LC-1011-500
Pan Am 727-Think its Pacmin? Not sure of scale? Need to source stand
Southwest 737 Texas Lone Star One 1:144-Not sure of make?
1:100 Braniff Alexander Calder 1975 Flying Colors 727 w/Lithograph-Not sure of maker?

Like that PanAm727. Reminds me of the Airfix kit I ( tried) to assemble one day... nice set of models. Good luck on your Pacmin quest!

A nice collection there. I think the Connie is a Toys and Models item. The 737 looks like an Atlantic model, they usually have the name somewhere on the underside of their models. I’ve no idea ref the Pan Am 727 or the Calder one. The very pretty DC3 is very likely a wooden Philippine model, really like the livery on that one. I’m sure some other members on here will have other ideas.

Thanks for the info! The 737 does look like the one on Atlantic Models website but it seems they don't offer in 1/144 which is what this is. Funny thing is I have the box with tag but it does not have any name of a company...weird.

I also think the Southwest 737 is a AM release. That coffin lid type of stand is a trademark already! I always change mine when I acquire one. Plain awful design. I agree with the rest Neil just said. As for the Panam 727, Id go for a nice clear perspex stand type, you can have them custom made, model would look great!

I’m with you on the Atlantic stand design, I’ve never liked them either.

Hi KANESTER,

Very nice models.

Your Braniff Calder Boeing 727 Model may not have been made by PacMin. I don't believe that PacMin ever produced solid mahogany wood models, which were manufactured in the Philippines. All of their earlier circa models were made in the USA.

Found an exact copy of your Braniff Boeing 727 Calder Model, shown below:

https://www.mutualart.com/Artwork/Bi...1D0E5D32B21C6C

Also, below is an actual picture of a PacMin 1/100 Scale Braniff Boeing 727 Calder Model:

Hope that this info helps.

Hi Again Kanester,

In general, when you want to calculate what a model's scale size is, you can use these steps shown below:

Find the length and wingspan/width of the scale model which you are constructing.
Find the dimensions of your model with a ruler/tape measure.
Divide the real life dimension (of the real full size airplane) of either length or width by that of the model.
Take the reciprocal of the number you just had.
You have found out the scale of your model.

Lake Central DC-3- Make/Scale....not sure about the manufacturer of this one.

Eastern Super G-Make/Scale...this model was made by Toys & Models Corporation and it's scale size is 1/100.

Pan Am 727-Think its Pacmin? Not sure of scale? Need to source stand....If you could kindly post some pictures of the underside of this model, that would help us to determine, where you can source a stand for your model.

Southwest 737 Texas Lone Star One 1:144-Not sure of make..This model was made by Mohican Models, who used to be located in Tennessee.

Hope again this information helps.

I had that EAL Connie back in the day. Should have kept her. Nice collection you have there.
