Default Columbine I - A Presidental Transport by WM

On the box it has U.S. AIR FORCE VC-121 /748
Then the tail number 8614.The Aero Classics product number # AC19702 pictures will follow.
I post pictures in most cases of the box to give collectors a chance to pick up the model if I don't give the product number in my post.
Columbine 1 used by Dwight D Eisenhauser as his personal transport while he was in the US Army before he become President. I am sure someone can confirm this. This aircraft was also deemed to be the first true " Air Force One". Enjoy the show

Thank you Tom and Filip. I thought you were going to get it filip. I would like to say something about the packaging of this model. The outer carton is not like the earlier WM solid sturdy style box it is much more like, well if I was pick something equivalent it would be as thin as a biscuit box or cereal box. Where the box is ultra thin 0.1999 mm cardboard housing a plastic cradle or if you like the technical term a blister pack. The model is well strapped down with very good adhesive tape and some foam on the top of the wings. I would have preferred the foam covering the entire wing tip covered to prevent scuff / chafe markings on the under wing and for that matter the entire under side of the model. The blister pack clamps down on the model. The next picture will show you where the blister packaging while sturdy and does a fantastic job of protecting the model show how Aero Classics can do more to protect your investment.

The impact / scuff damage has gone through the clear coat protection.

Nice pics and model. Thanks for sharing. They used to include little plastic strips under/over such surfaces to help reduce such scuffing?

It’s not like they haven’t seen how to properly prevent the scuffing. Instead they cheap out I guess and sell damaged goods. Shame it’s painted too. Brushed metal or chrome, please!

Thumbs up Re: Columbine I - a presidental transport by WM

GREAT looking model. Pity about the slipshod packaging. A model this good deserves far better.
