This is truly a lovely batch of releases. Is that 737-300 a new mould in 1/400? A330 NEO? Wow! North Central Convair? Double Wow! Fedex 737-800? Nice!

Wow. Credit where credit is due... they actually did a couple classics, this month. Bravo to GJ, for that. Those North Central Convairs have been requested for years.

I was hoping they’d do a bare metal Western 727-200... but a 737-300 is still definitely in the ‘win’ column.

Unfortunately it'll probably be the old Phoenix mould again which isn't great. However despite that I agree with you. It is a decent set of releases and I, and no doubt others, will appreciate the Convair a lot.

Good selection there, even the Emirates is one of the more interesting schemes.

Unless it's a pic of the 1:200, which is also out ? This 1:400 shot has also appeared on their FB page.

Jc mould or not, I’d choose this over Phoenix any day. It’s a shame JC’s better mould isn’t being used but GJ has a decent mould that I would still buy. Also I can post some comparison shots later if you wish but it looks like GJ’s own mould.

Agree. Here's hoping that Gemini will take the Western 737-300 and also release one in 1:200 scale.

I don't know why some of you are so fussy; seems nothing will ever make you happy!!

For the record, I held one of these beauties in my hand 2 nights ago at a friends house, and was extremely impressed with it. I will be picking one up for myself this week!!

Just ordered the North Central CV-580 N2041. This aircraft will replace the Aeroclassics Republic DC-9-14 so I will now have three North Central aircraft in my display (C-580, DC-9-31 & DC-9-51).

CV-580 N2041 was built and sold to National Airlines as a CV440-47 in 1956. The aircraft was sold to North Central in 1963 while retaining the same registration number. It was converted to a 580 in 1968. The nose correctly reflects its NCA number as 541.

In 1975, N2041 was pulled from operations for a complete overhaul including a remodeled interior. It would serve as North Central's public relations and corporate executive aircraft. They changed the registration to N580N to reflect the airline's appreciation for the reliable Convair 580.

I always viewed the CV-580 as sort of an Lockheed Electra L-188-500. Similar overall configuration, just scaled down. However, the L-188 actually followed the CV-580 by quite a few years, so might the latter have some genetic relation to the former? Probably not, but the CV-240 series never looked better than when it was adorned with Herman the duck... Over, Doug

Gemini is slowly getting back its competitive edge. I have multiple recent releases in hand I could use to back this claim up, but this release set speaks for itself, A330NEO, a couple classics, and getting into the 737-800 freighter game with Panda and NG, way to go Gemini, hoping to get a good few of these!

Well they seem to definitely be beating some competition in 1:400. Especially with Phoenix. The BA100 airplanes are the prime example. Now that Phoenix didn’t announce a negus 747-400, we will have to wait and see if Negus gets announced by GJ next month hopefully.

Liking this set of releases.
Definitely getting the Western and the Delta.
Seriously considering the North Central - It'd be a no-brainer if it were Republic. The questions is whether Gemini will do this as a Republic in a couple of months.

Key word is slowly! Mostly repeat or similar to something released before stuff. Panda releases a FedEx 737 and GJ has to release one too? Is this really coincidence? The BOAC 747-400 does look really nice though.

Wish they would use the MD-80 and 737-500 tooling more.

Well, if the interval between the Allegheny and North Central is any indication, I’d say you can expect the next GJ CV580 in the mid 2020’s.

It continues in operation today in Canada as C-FTAP with Nolinor

I flew on C-FTAP with Nolinor a few years ago. This may just be enough reason to buy the North Central!

Personally, I'd much prefer an American Eagle or United Express. But, I'm an 80's collector. I could certainly understand the demand for the more 'original' CV580 liveries, like the North Central one that's now been announced.

I don't think GJ had ever lost their competitive edge; too many people were just hypnotized by the Pied Piper to notice what GJ was bringing to market.

Whatever Panda does is completely IRRELEVANT to this hobby. Panda is not a real player; just a band of thieves and copycats. In my imperfect world, only GJ is releasing a FedEx 737 this month, so that is all to be considered if I'm interested in a FedEx 737.

Agree with you 100% on the BOAC 747; it's a real beauty!!

I always considered Aeroclassics being of a higher quality product than Geminijets, perhaps this is the pied piper that you speak of that hypnotized me to not know what Gemini was bringing to the collectors so long ago...

At long last, after so many requests, Gemini have brought their 1/400 Convair 580 back on line with the lovely Herman Duck North Central scheme.
Now before its put back into storage, pleaser make good use of it and do DHL, American Eagle, Frontier (both schemes), Republic, Northwest and a Royal Canadian Air Force CC-109 Cosmopolitan?

Re the Western B737-300 in final polished scheme - already made by Aeroclassics and I have it in my collection.

I don’t have it, so I’m looking forward to picking up 1 or 2 of the GJ’s! Would love to see them do a 737-200, or especially a 727-200, in the final Western bare metal livery. But, I have a feeling this month is probably a bit of a unicorn, next month they’ll be back to only the ultra-modern types.

But, I’d be happy to be proven wrong on that.

Glad to see Gemini released the CV-580 and the Western 737-300. I, like many others, already have the AC version. I'm interested to see if the 737-300 is new tooling. Lot's of possibilities with that 580 mould, I hope Gemini puts it to good use! I'll admit, Gemini got me into this scale back in 1999, but I've hardly bothered reading there new release lists for the past several years. Maybe this is the start of something good again for us "non-modern" collectors!

Always wondered why we haven't seen a Aspen CV-580. Beautiful aircraft. Also funny we have seen every aircraft in the Western fleet done and yet the first Republic MTM colors was only released this year...
