Default Falcon Models T-38A Talon

I have always wanted a diecast T-38, so when this one came out, I pounced on it. It is a nice model overall, but it definitely has a few flaws. The canopy glass was dull and not transparent, so I dipped it in Pledge Future wax and it looks a lot better. The pitot tube was fragile and ugly, so I made my own using a sewing pin. Painting the "candy cane" nearly drove me mad. The cockpit detail was unimpressive, but I was able to find a nice color layout diagram that I was able to make into decals. The pilots are of course HM.

My father worked as a civilian producing pilot training media at Randolph AFB in the late 70's and will always remember how much I enjoyed hearing and seeing these rocket over our heads.

Nice work! Especially with the "candy cane." It is really funny the nicknames given on parts of airplanes. It's good that Hobby Master also makes a T-38... Only there's no telling when we'll see another release.

Thanks guys. I'm really hoping Hobby Master will do some of the newer camoflage paint schemes used on the T-38 and T-38C aircraft. One can dream.

It looks pretty sharp! You made it! I did the same modification using a printed paper on my TB Talon

Thanks. I missed out on the T-Bird model, but it my favorite of all the various T-Birds over the years. The shape and contours of the T-38 really pop with the paint scheme. I saw them perform just once and will never forget it.

Looks great! If HM ever does a Thunderbird or the U-2 trainer Beale version of this, I'll be all over it.

I don't want to start a rumor, but I think they may be out of business. I couldn't find www.falcon-models.com and their e-mail address is [email protected].
I even tried looking for Millennium Models Limited and didn't have any luck.

It's too bad. A friend of mine's uncle flew an F-86D in Korea with "El Flying Wetback" noseart. I met him once before he passed away. Really nice guy. Anyway, Falcon Models did a diecast of his aircraft and I wanted to find one someday.
