Default The Fokker that Aeroclassics forgot

G-BDVS Fokker F-27 Friendship 200 Air UK LPL 29JAN83

First flown in Aug-63 with the Dutch temporary registration PH-FEX, it was delivered to Malayan Airlines the same month as 9M-AMM. Malayan Airlines merged with Singapore Airlines to form Malaysia-Singapore Airlines in Jan-67. The aircraft was sold back to Fokker in May-71 as PH-EXC and stored. It was re-registered PH-FEX again in May-72. In Dec-72 it was sold to the Australian Department of Supply and donated to Biman Bangladesh Airlines in Apr-73 as S2-ABK. Biman sold it in Mar-76 to East-lease Ltd and it was leased to Air Anglia as G-BDVS. It was briefly sub-leased to BMA British Midland Airways for two weeks in Jan-80. Later the same month Air Anglia was merged into AirUK. In Aug-87 it was leased to Loganair, returning to AirUK in Jul-88. It was retired at Norwich, UK, in Sep-94 and broken up there in Dec-96. The forward fuselage section was donated to the Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum and put on display.

That's a very nice custom Modelman, I know Aeroclassics200 have a great mould but was this done from a Herpa donor? Have or do plan to attempt an Air Anglia F27, I'd love to see one in that scheme.

I would be happy to order an Air Anglia F27 if you make a batch. I'd order one of the Air UK too.

Well I’m half way there with the decals, but now need to find a Herpa donor.

P.s. Adrian. Do you know the RGB (red/green/blue) ratio for the yellow/gold?

Possibly, but the Herpa has better wing roots.

I just spotted a Herpa FH-227 Piedmont, were there physical differences with the F27 or would that be a suitable donor, no I realise Air Anglia only operated the 100/200 version of the F27 so this would be too long.

I have managed to source an LTU Herpa F27, would you be willing to do an Air Anglia custom?
