Default Block's Third Way: Air Holland

Prior to the internet and LCC revolution charter airlines were a major component of the European scene and competition was strong. Air Holland fought hard to forge a 3rd option in the Netherlands. This is the airline's story:

Waffle has sold 14 of them and has just 2 left and that is in the USA. There are at least 7 other sales recorded on DiMA.

So looks like it probably has sold quite well for a run of what I presume is only 150-200 models.

I would expect that with a tiny amount of marketing and market targeting European airlines should sell easily - especially in Germany and the UK, which have strong aviation enthusiast sectors

As a Dutchman, I enjoyed your story behind the link. I remember the coming and going of the airline well.

Wonderful write-up Rich. Love the story behind the rise and fall of Air Holland which is now represented through this lovely 757 model from NG model.

There's also a Phoenix 767-300 released some time ago in the 2000's livery, I have that one as well. This 757 was one I asked for in the NG 757 thread here, so I was glad to see they went with it (both of them). I'd also like to see it done in the final livery and Air Scotland hybrid version which appeared for a while whilst Air Scotland were leasing 757's from Air Holland and Thomas Cook.
