Default Aichi E16A1 Paul in 1/48 Diecast

Here's something you don't see everyday. I ran into this on a japanese site and ended up buying it. It hasn't arrived yet.

This is a 1/48 Aichi E16A1 Zuiun / Paul in "diecast." It is unclear to me in this case whether the term "diecast" on the box implies any metal or not - a quick look at the photos suggests that the fuselage may be metal, but this is far from certain.

Certainly one of the more unusal subjects to ever come out in 1/48 diecast.

sorry, it was a site of 'used' items. the seller listed it as being 'new but with worn box and without a book.' a google image search suggests that it may have been part of some tie in with some book / comic.

this page has a very cheesy video with some additional views:

googling the following may help:

1/48 二子玉川酒保 E16A1

FWIF i paid around US $90 for it. Which, is probably far more than the original retail price, but it seemed legitimately a bit HTF.

Good luck

I'm having trouble getting to this. I'd like to order one but can't find the place to buy it. Any advice/help/link would be appreciated. I love that plane!

Thanks,

ive sent aeroeng a private message how to buy it. to allow him to get the best price available (currently around JPY 14000) ive not posted this publicly.

there are a few at this price on yahoo japan. plus ones for crazy prices - one is 98,000 yen. all this proves is that there are speculative and robo posters in japan just as there are on your local ebay.
