all these new trainers are very similar, the m346, the yak 130, even the new US TA-7... all copies?

Not sure. IMO advances in Technology is a driving factor for this current Trainers Renaissance...including the individualizations to mfg in their own countries perhaps?

M-346 and Yak-130 are related designs, yes. There's a Chinese knockoff of it as well, a Shenyang, I believe, although it's design varies a lot more than the differences between the Aermacchi and the Yak.



T-7 is all-new.


This Taiwanese trainer is obviously a version of their FCK-1 Ching Kuo fighter.
