Default August Aeroclassics200 releases, two TWA L1049s

Well since nobody else posted, this months releases are two TWA connies, N7109C with wingtip tanks and N7105C without. I ordered the 7105C as i prefer the looks without the tanks. Can't wait for her to arrive...

The painted silver is a little unfortunate, mainly because so many of us probably already have something similar in our collections. +1 for polished.

Correct me if i am wrong, but of the three manufacturers of this release, Herpa, HM, & AC/Western, none of them are polished to my knowledge. also, i find it more realistic as i am sure TWA didn't buff their fuselages as AA did!

Also... as much as i like polished models, i had a few prized gems turn to $#it due to tarnishing, so it doesn't bother me one bit they are painted. not even the Breitling Connie is polished...

One of the Herpa TWA Connies has polished belly and portions of the wings! If the 1 to 1 is painted than I want painted and if the 1 to 1 is polished than I want polished...tarnishing doesn't bother me a whole lot as pictures I see of the 1 to 1's are discolored...more realistic that way! Only time I have seen pristine 1 to 1's are on assembly line or at Boeing field!

I gotta agree with that.

But my experience with tarnishing of polished surfaces, for some odd reason, has been marginal, to the point of not talking about. I guess I'm lucky.

I wouldn't consider this one marginal on my Strojet.

fwiw... the only Herpa TWA connie i can find polished was a 1649 starliner

Wow. That's terrible. I assume there's nothing that can be done to correct the problem? I'm naively thinking of how silverware and such can be polished, but of course, even if that was option, I'd be terrified to try it myself.

Thank you Robert for this picture.

TWA livery was the most beautiful for these aircraft.

Air France was a very important customer for these Constellations, Super Constellations and Starliners, I would be very pleased with the release of an AF L 1049 G, with or without tip tanks.

Jean Pierre.
