Default For all you DLH LAX area A340-600 fans

Just noticed that starting today Lufthansa is again flying A346s LAX-MUC. They had been using their A388s for quite awhile.

Keeping my fingers crossed today's will fly the LadyJ departure which goes over my house. ✈️

Why are they not using their A380s on this route? Uh-oh... Doug

Originally all the A380s were based in FRA. When Lufthansa had their tiff with the airport they moved 6 A380s to MUC.

Before that, the first flight out of LAX was LAX-FRA an A380, second was LAX-MUC an A346, and lastly DLH 451 a B748 LAX-FRA.

Until today it was the two FRA flights using the B748, and the MUC leg was an A388. Today the first flight out is once again an A388. So they're still using them here.

I thought Lufthansa and Fraport must be good buddies relying on one another, but that shows you what I know. Lufthansa is always in negotiations and disruptions with their unions over one thing or another, but had no idea there were tensions with the home airport. And so it goes, Doug

I occasionally see the Lufthansa 748 on approach to IAD in the afternoons. I'm about 50 miles West of IAD and one of the approaches is over the house.

Doh! Fraport raised the landing fees two years ago, and the A380 got more expensive and was relegated to Munich - simple as that. Doug
