Detailed Mould Comparison: Boeing 747SP

I hadn't actually planned on writing a detailed comparison for the SP since it seemed given that the 2020 NG mould is superior to the other two moulds dating from the early 2000s. However there has...

Bamako Trijet: TZ-ADR and Air Mali

It has been a while since I've found the time to explore the history behind a model release but the Air Mali 727 from a few months ago is the kind of obscure release that I find too exciting not to...

Re: Comparison: Qantas 747SP GJ & NG

It was requested by some on other platforms that I make a review video of the NG 747SPs from this month and so here it is. Thanks for your work above Denny I mention you in the vid:

Re: Comparison: Qantas 747SP GJ & NG

No they aren't.

I just measured the two moulds tail heights by running a ruler along the rear margin. The Gemini's tail is 1mm taller (3cm : 2.9cm) but in Denny's photo you can also see the NG is...

Re: Comparison: Qantas 747SP GJ & NG

You're right. In the pre-delivery shots the entire tail is red but by the time it arrived in Australia the tail had changed. Must have been repainted in January 1981 between the test flight and...

Shades of Battleship Grey

Battleship Grey is the toughest scheme to recreate in 400 scale. I'm surprised the shade of grey used by the recent NG models United 747SP hasn't got more attention. Not that many brands have...

Re: Comparison: Qantas 747SP GJ & NG

Interesting. It does look like your NG has a better cockpit on the starboard side to the port. I still prefer it I think as the cockpit shape on the Gemini means the cockpit windows kind of slide...
