Thumbs up Re: Airline "Theme" Collections?

I have a modest Air France collection with a modest amount of books devoted to the subject. The choice of models collected demonstrates Air France's very advanced aircraft used.

I also have a...

Some of those mentioned would look really good as a highly detailed 1:48 (of course by another maker). Twin Otter would be right at the top of my list!

Re: Aeroclasscis DC-8-61

Well, CPA's history is littered with minor name changes which doesn't make things easier. Myself, I'm only interested in Canadian Pacific Airlines up to the beginning of the multimark era.

In the...

Re: Aeroclasscis DC-8-61

CF-CPS started as Sydney, then was: Fiji, Madrid, the British Columba.

They often shifted the 'Empress of' titling 2 or 3 times during an aircrafts life with them. It can get a bit confusing at...

I got this info from D.M. Bain's book "Canadian Pacific Airlines: Its History and Aircraft" 1987. This is a very complete listing of the entire CPA inventory by aircraft, date in/out, regs, etc....

That's a peculiar chart.

I have the AC200 DC-8-43 CF-CPJ (gorgeous model!) and it's marked 'Empress of Toronto'. (Makes a nice fit with HM's DC-6 'Empress of Toronto'. Helps I live in Toronto,...

Re: Herpa Airbus A350

I'm going to wait for Gemini to get their act together. As much as plastics can have a very engaging contemporary character of their own, the lack of detail doesn't impress me.

I'll wait.
