Thanks for all the replies. I guess I just thought the Air Force used both all the time because of how many pictures there are with both VC-25 planes at the same place, though maybe they only use...

Thanks for the reply, tripoli. I did hear somewhere that both 747s are used, but maybe they meant that only on certain occasions are both 747s used, but said in such a way that it seemed to imply...

No, definitely not a terrorist. I just like learning about planes, including military planes. Anyway, considering how much fuel it takes to fly a 747, seems like a waste to almost always use two 747s...

Just out of curiosity, considering that the US Air Force always uses both the primary and the back-up Air Force One during presidential flights, does anyone know if the Air Force has ever actually...
