I haven't heard that these were affected by zinc issues. I own both PH-BUU and PH-BUV and they are in good condition. Oddly they were released with- and without HF antennas. They are reasonably good...

Buy what you like. As Lou said, be a bit careful with the older models. Otherwise this 1:400 scale is now such a small niche with so few manufacturers that going into who is the best or worst makes...

The smallest 1:400 scale models I have are the Bombardier DHC-100 Air Canada Jazz, the CRJ-200 Air Canada Jazz and Douglas DC-3 Icelandair, KLM and Aeroflot (LI-2).

I don't mind 1:500 scale, I have quite a lot of models in this scale. I first bought the AN-225 in 1:500 from Herpa and later substituted for the 1:400. Quite happy to do this as well with the An-22.

Thank you! The Citroen DS is one of my favorites as well. Citroens were sold in Quebec until the early 70s and you will find some survivors occasionally. In Ontario, I have never seen a DS.

they are there on purpose but I am not sure why the Il-76 has these openings. I assume they perform a similar function as on the DC-8, perhaps driving turbo compressors ?
