I totally agree, while it’s not my most expensive model, I too had to have an ANZ B-777 LOTR Smaug. It sits on my desk and reminds me of when Smaug flew me from LAX to AKL.

I collect Qantas and I think the livery is a beautiful way to celebrate 100 years of aviation history.

Thanks for the A-380 info and you’re correct, passengers love the 380. I’ve made five flights on Qantas and Air France and it is an incredible experience.

I guess my theme is prewar airlines that pioneered early routes. I collect Air France, Imperial Airways, Qantas, and Pan American. As for memorabilia, I collect airline lapel pins and pocket knives.

I guess I’m lucky. My Pan Am B-727 has been on the shelf for years in a closed display case with no sign of yellowing. It would be a shame to hide such a beautiful model in its box.
