By that definition it is a TSS, a transport that went supersonic.
It does count as first commercial aircraft to ever reach supersonic in 1961. Not the Concorde, not the TU-144, just a DC-8-43....

I completely agree. Hard to look at the whalejet/forehead of the skies/skycow, and the legroom was appalling (IFE box IIRC) but at least it was 1/3 full!
