Re: HM Weathering Advice Needed

Could the solution be to use a temporary staining solution of some kind that can be cleaned off if you want to sell the model?

Re: HM Eurofighter EF-2000 Typhoon, Luftwaffe HA66

No, HM got the cockpit section & canopy right- it's off in the Herpa & Corgi versions. Everything where the basic shape is concerned is correct in the HM version.

Re: HM Eurofighter EF-2000 Typhoon, Luftwaffe HA66

HMs version is streets ahead of both Herpa and Corgi, and is by far the most accurate rendition of the Typhoon.

Don't forget that Corgi also did a GR3 Harrier, & HM did GR7/9 versions.

Re: Best manufacturer for military models

Corgi's A-4 & A-10 were not HM toolings but Corgi's own, & nowhere near as good as HM.

Re: Best manufacturer for military models

For the Typhoon it's HM hands down- theirs is as perfect as diecast gets. Ditto the A-10. For the Harrier it depends which version you want- Corgi's is GR3, HM's is GR7/GR9. Both brands do different...

Re: Best manufacturer for military models

You can't really quantify one brand as the best overall, as all of them have good and bad moulds and schemes. The best in general are Calibre, HM and Corgi.

I don't get it either. You were a bit cynical & sarcastic, snarky maybe, but I don't see how you broke or even bent any of the rules as listed by aviaction.

Re: forces of valor mh-47g

It would have to be a complete new mould rather than a reworking of existing moulds like FoV are doing. But if the do decide to do some new moulds, a Herc gunship would be ace.

Re: WWII Tanks in 1/32 scale

They're already doing heli's- they've got completely retooled Chinooks available- many different schemes & nations. Better than Corgi's version & more detailed- they're 1/72 though.

1. Yes, the canopy is accurate- in fact they retooled the whole nose section to get it right.
2. What hatch do you mean?

Re: Easy Model Grumman Duck

Minimal detail & no rigging at that price? No ta- they can duck off! If HM or Corgi made one it might justify the extra cost, but I'd rather pay more for a good one.
