Re: Best 737-200 Mould?

Although it's 1/72 not 1/200, and described as a kit, I doubt you will get anything much more accurate than this masterpiece, not sure if its actually available yet?

Re: Gemini 200 new Mould Twin Otter

Excellent choice as a subject, really happy to see all the new prototypes on show by Gemini. They are going to fill some big gaps in many collections. Thanks in advance!

1/200 b-1b wltk

This model arrived yesterday, among my favourite military planes of all time. It was ordered off ebay for around $40 USD so the price was very reasonable particularly compared to what the Herpa...

Re: Why EBAY Sucks...

Sorry to hear about your experience. That would really ruin anyone's day. Just noticed the ebay warning post here that may be of help. Of course they may just change their account ID or start a new...

Re: Least Liked Airframe?

Don't mean to be on a downer, as enthusiasts we probably get excited being around or in any aircraft. Who cannot get excited seeing even the most mundane airplane departing or on approach, or an...

Re: How to do Decals for Customs?

Formerly used Testor's decal paper but not sure about it's availability nowadays. A quick look on Amazon revealed a few choices, several options available (both clear and white in same package)

Re: Herpa Wings De Havilland DHC-7 "Dash 7" HE5577

I flew on one of these long ago (City Express) and it was sure was memorable, thanks to the STOL characteristics in such a larger aircraft. Thanks to Herpa for producing this model.

Just imagine what those Delta CRJ's recently going for $$$ on ebay are going to be fetching now!

Re: Some things get better with age...decals don’t

"If your decals are damaged because they are too old you could try to print new ones on a piece of White decal."

This idea makes so much sense, would have helped with those schemes such as Star...

Re: Another new collector

Since you collect Inflight and Olympic models, how about this one? Checks both boxes! (Photo from jumbliesmodels)

Re: Calibre Wings F-14A Tomcat TOPGUN Maverick & G

My Captain Obvious question of the day, is provision made to display it upside-down on the stand somehow? Looks cool in that manner.

Fun fact: F-14 celebrated its 50th birthday, first flight...

Re: In Praise of Dragon Tens

If memory serves Dragon Wings also made provision for not only the engine differences (most notably the DC-10-40 No.2 engine bulge) but also the extended wing introduced on later variants. I recall...

Re: Inflight200 A330 / A340 tail shape

The Inflight/Aeroflot shape looks too parallel, not enough taper, regardless of height. It looks to me more like a 707 fin minus the aerial. I recall having seen a diagram on this forum explaining...

Re: NG models - Weathering effect???

Unless you would only collect models from this one manufacturer, they would look completely out of place among the rest of your "pristine" collection. Most have fairly large/substantial collections...

Re: Waxing diecast models?

As mentioned above the factory-added clear coat protects the model. Working on customs I have used wax (specifically Turtle Wax, the paste type) to remove minor blemishes in paint etc. This stuff...

Re: Waffle collectibles ignorance

This is a horrible story and shows how opportunistic some people can be. On the other hand I would love to see some pics of your cranes, I once had an eye out to get one or two myself.

Re: Notice to all custom makers

I am working on a project right now and encountered a similar problem, i.e., tampo print would not come off using acetone. I ended up using turtle wax paste with a paper towel and a bit of elbow...

Re: Commission for Custom work

Hi there,

I posted long ago under the name Sgt Caribou but cannot log in using the old name anymore. Saw your post and I used to do some customs (albeit 1:400) quite awhile back. Unfortunately I...
