Re: Another Case of "Where To Put It"

The den is mine, but I want to keep the peace. For that matter, I told her the kitchen is hers (please don't tell her I said that), but she still wouldn't put something on the walls there that I...

Re: Another Case of "Where To Put It"

I simply want to keep my wife happy and not have an argument. Let it be said that I'm still in charge and have the final say. Uh oh...I felt my nose growing.

Re: Another Case of "Where To Put It"

Thank you. I just don't get her sense of taste. A few years ago I wanted to put a vintage wood propeller on the mantle over the fireplace, and I got what I call "the laser stare" from her.

Question re: 707 vs. 720

I know that most 707 aircraft had turbocompressors on the # 2, 3, & 4 engines, and some had them on all four engines. In looking at photos of 720 aircraft I noticed that most, if not all, had...

New Acquisition & Annoyed Wife

I just acquired (found on CraigsList) an American Airlines 707 in 1:50(?) scale. It's not in brand new condition, but hey...it's probably about 60 yrs old. It has a wingspan of 33" and is 32" long,...

Re: MD-11 House Colors

Unfortunately I can't confirm if the stand is original. Regarding the white vs. silver engine pylons, it's possible that Pacific Miniatures changed the color over time to make it more realistic.

Re: MD-11 House Colors

MSR777 - the top surfaces of the wings are white, with some yellowing. The flaps / ailerons are decals and have yellowed over time. The engine pylons are white.

The spots are not pitting. I tried to remove them by very gently rubbing them with water. That didn't work, so I tried the same thing with an alcohol pad. That also didn't work.
