Re: NG Model - 1:400 October 2019 Release

Oof. Guess my joke didn’t quite land, there. ;)

If you read the link, AA famously sent a non-ETOPS A321S to Hawaii and didn’t realize it until the plane was halfway there. They’ve also had...

Re: October Aeroclassics: Your guesses....

PS - I wonder why the pair of Hawaiian DC10's had their tails painted silver, instead of being polished metal like the American versions. Change in tooling, or oversight??

Fantastic month.

Never expected United 757's, those look great. Hopefully a battleship one makes an appearance, at some point. Definitely getting the TWA DC9... I'm happy to see the tail number...

Re: NG Model - 1:400 October 2019 Release

To make it even more confusing, the FAA JO 7360.1 "Aircraft Type Designators" manual calls it a B78X. That's for the ATC side of things, though. Airlines will often use their own codes, regardless of...

Nice to see the Delta L1011-500 so soon after N730DA. I’ll be getting one or two of those, along with a TWA. Good month!

Still hoping to eventually see an American 757-200 in the original...

Most Overlooked Aircraft in 1:400??

This isn't even in my own collecting criteria, but I was incredibly surprised to learn that no one has ever done an updated standard-livery Alaska 737-400. Both Herpa and DW/JX did one in the early...

It's unfortunate the UK collectors have such limited purchasing options. The handful of retailers - namely ARD - sound like a total dumpster fire. Even to purchase internationally, someone did the...

Re: NG Model - 1:400 October "Hints" Correction

My own guesses on the N-regs, again:

757-200
Kinda similar to last time, the N6 usually would indicate American or Delta, though there can always be an oddball.

N69xDL - Delta. Would work for...

Re: Suggestions for Aeroclassics Boeing 737-200s

Northwest never had 737-200's. Pretty good job on the photoshop, though.

Northwest did, however, get extremely close to having A340's. They even had 30 different registration numbers reserved, as...

Re: October Aeroclassics: Your guesses....

Aeroclassics seems to often have 'groups' of releases; different liveries within the same airline. So, piggy-backing off the last few months, I'd have to guess:

Hawaiian DC-10-30
Western DC-10-10...

A stab at some of the N-regs:

757-200:

N65xDL - Delta. Some variation; interim, Deltaflot, or maybe the current livery. This time with winglets, since the recent N525US was without.
N65xAA -...

Re: Suggestions for Aeroclassics 1/400 Fokker F.27

Huh. I know the Delta of the 70's operated a wide and bizarre list of different aircraft types (L-100...) but I had no idea they ever had F-27's. You learn something new every day.
