Re: Airforce One 747-8 or 787

Your explanation of ETOPS and the duties of PIC are absolutely correct for operation operated under international air carrier operations. The military does not need to adhere to those regulations....

Re: Airforce One 747-8 or 787

The -200s will be replaced no doubt by another 747. Either 400 or 800. Thrust to weight and other factors will determine the outcome. These are highly modified airplanes.
I spoke with a reporter...

Re: Airforce One 747-8 or 787

USAF aircraft do not follow ETOPS procedures. Some are similar but refueling capabilities of the VC-25 negate these issues.

Re: American Eagle Embraer ERJ-145 - N628AE

Brings back memories.

By the time I left AE I was in the top 10 FOs on the ERJ. In the spring and summer I bid ORD-YOW and in the fall and winter I bid the MIA overnights all the time.

Re: American Eagle Embraer ERJ-145 - N628AE

From your avatar it looks like you are a Pinnacle or Mesaba guy. Why so worried about AE?

Re: American Eagle Embraer ERJ-145 - N628AE

Exactly right arctic. We had ZFW issues on the EMB all the time.

I can not think of one place we flew the EMB into that could not handle a B737 or A319/320 easy. Now I flew this airplane almost...

Re: American Eagle Embraer ERJ-145 - N628AE

Not really. AE now flies an EMJ-145 from Chicago-Nashville which used to be flown by AA on a B727. In the 80's it was not uncommon to be on a DC-10 or B747 from ORD-LAX or SFO where now it is...
