Re: Hobby Master Eurofighter

I don't think we'll be seeing a Calibre Eurofighter. They never really followed up after their teaser pictures and then the Su-22 came out of nowhere, seems they decided to go another way. I seem to...

Re: Calibre Wings 1:72 B58 Hustler

Hmmm...not sure myself. I like the B58 but can't help wondering if, given its short operational life, would it be anymore successful than the HM Vigilante? I'd maybe get one, like the Vigi.

AC1011 Air Commander McDonnell Phantom II F-4J CAG

Well there you go, another USN release if you like that kind of thing. I'll await with baited breath a non-US Air Commander release now.

Re: What themes have you collected

The Corsair that came with 4 figures and a carrier flightdeck. US61005 ;)

TBH they may not have marketed that as 'flightline', they labelled it 'diorama', but it comes with figures so I lump all...

Re: Models you wish you had

No, those are the one's I haven't yet got!

The one's I did pick up would be Corgi B17G's 'Bit o' Lace' and '909' (by far the most expense models in terms of what I paid), also managed to get...

Re: Models you wish you had

I've actually been pretty good in recent years at picking up the ones I most wanted from amongst the older releases.

I guess the ones that still spring to mind at present would be-

1. Corgi...

Re: What themes have you collected

I am indeed looking forward to an 88 Sqn release with invasion stripes, so far 'Le France Libre' has been the only A20 I considered picking up.

Thanks, I also have all three of the Corgi 1/72 'flightline' releases (with figures). I guess that may count as a mini-theme! ;)

Re: What themes have you collected

For WWII my main themes are (no particular order):

1. MTO (desert camo) RAF/Luftwaffe
2. D-day (wrap around invasion stripes) RAF/USAAF
3. Coastal Command/Fleet Air Arm
4. USAAF...

Re: ME-110 CORGI vs HM

At one point I had the HM BF110E (HA1811) and the Corgi BF110C (AA38506), both were "Wespen" Eastern Front, in broadly similar schemes.

Ultimately I sold the HM version as I preferred the Corgi...

Re: Corgi CG-AA33716 He 111H-16 Luftwaffe Air Lnc

Yeah, the plane itself actually looks quite nice when you get to see it, albeit I still prefer the scheme on the prior V1 release. There are photos out there...but they aren't mine to share.

Re: Hobby Master Mirage 2000-5

The 4 small AAM's on the inner pylons are actually Durundal bombs (used for runway penetration). It is not really an accurate load out for an Air-Air mission (for self-evident reasons) but that is...

Re: New 2019 Air Commander Phantom

That's not a bomb. It's a gunpod as this 'D' variant did not otherwise have an integral gun (unlike the F4E's like 'Supersonic Gun Kill -AC1005 or 'Paper Tiger' AC 1008).

Re: "Outside of the box" mould suggestions.

IL-2 Sturmovik in 1/72. This of course should not remotely be an 'out of the box' suggestion but clearly it must be given no diecast manufacturer (other than the low end IXO) has gone near it!

Re: Latest Corgi CAT - 7 Jan 19

Well it is Corgi, so a Hampden is much more likely than any of my preferences. I'd agree that a Bomber Command B17 is overdue, but again....it is Corgi!

Re: Latest Corgi CAT - 7 Jan 19

I have to be honest I would have zero interest in Corgi producing a Hampden in 1/72. I'd much rather see an Il-2, Pe2, SM79.

Re: ME-110 Corgi or HM 1/72

I particularly like the scheme on AA38506, which probably explains why I bought it. Corgi definitely get my vote over HM as far as Bf110's are concerned.
