Re: HM U-2 Coming Soon... Maybe

Never say never with Calibre. They could announce a B-36 next, but I doubt it. TBH I seriously doubt we'll see an early U-2 from Calibre within say, the next five years. Probably never. I very much...

Re: HM U-2 Coming Soon... Maybe

The latest Facebook update from Calibre says they've slipped their U-2. They are basically creating the thing from scratch in concert with an anonymous researcher. The current target date is now...

Re: HM Weathering Advice Needed

I’m no expert. Most of my weathering has been on 1/32 and 1/48 models. I’ve found that such pristine large models look even “worse” than their 1/72 cousins. My advice is start small and work up to...

Re: Unistar Sikorsky MH-53E Sea Dragon US NAVY, 72

Thanks as ever for the great pictures SKF.

Am I right in concluding that there's no crew and no gear up option? Anyway, it looks better than just a gap filler.

Re: New JC Wings Su-34

Final product, and yeah, those colours are awful. I also hope they come out with some other toolings. Hopefully they won't telegraph their next move so HM can't spoil it. I'd like less panel trenches...

Re: Best manufacturer for military models

Well, considering that by memory Calibre first mentioned the F-16 in MAY 2017 I wouldn’t really say that was already. That’s only the first two releases anyhow. And yes, it may be several more years...

Yeah, I didn't want to write out the whole lot. GR1 and 3, same comments really. Harrier II is short hand for all Mac Air's big wing plastic Harriers, AV-8B, II+, 5/7/9. Same comments on those too.

Re: Best manufacturer for military models

Since you want to be a jet collector the answer is Hobby Master, pure and simple. No-one else has close to their range, in 1/72 scale. Now that's not to say their models are all that. In fact some...

MiG-31 - Aready in the works at Calibre, so 2025ish unless HM make their trademark move.

Re: HOBBYMASTER November 2020 POSTER

Yeah but it’s not a “real” RF-101, i.e. an RF-101C or RF-101A. Really wish HM would modify the tooling.

Re: HM U-2 Coming Soon... Maybe

Calibre's other choice, 074 is also excellent. Although identified as a U-2R, it's basically a Gulf War TR-1 complete with mission marks.

IMHO HM's choices so far, apart from the real Black Cat...

None. Noel seems very busy with Tomcats, Vipers and the S2F. Not a thing on the U-2 or anything else for that matter.

Re: Penultimate Cold Warrior - HM Ha6001 SU-27 Fla

B. Copy kits, yet cannot be bothered to research which is the best kit to copy.

Very good question about the increasingly murky world of HM late model U-2s. So far there have been two official announcements and three leaks, all black jets. The complete list is:

Re: HM U-2 Coming Soon... Maybe

It looks...
