It looks like the picture may be deceptive. It's more a reflection of the sky and/or the very special paint they used in MiG cockpits.

The first nine releases of this model had air intakes with rather deep rivets which gave them a crude look.
But they changed it for the later releases, so no problem for your purchase ;)

Apart from the gray color for the plane not beeing accurate for the timeframe, the model itself is the best alternative for a CW F-14 as the creator of the mold for the CW and FoV F-14 is the same...
