If you can't find the nose gear, Herpa used to sell (and may still do) a 747 gear upgrade set. I bought several a few years ago to upgrade my 747 fleet and they look excellent.

The lens cleaner brushes are also a good option - allows you to get a puff of air to blow off the dust in tight spots

I have found that using a lens brush with or without a blower minimizes the damage to small or fragile bits such as antennae, etc.

Just a few (very average) pics of some of my MEA classics collection.
The Comet is a Skyline (or whatever brand CAM used for it), the 70's B707 is a Bader, the 90's 707 is the AV200, and the TMA DC6...
