Re: BA 747-400 Waves of the City (USA)

Quite a few 747’s sported the “British Asia Airways” titles at various points. It was for political reasons, to permit flights from China to Taipei.

G-CIVB went straight from Landor into British...

Re: BA 747-400 Waves of the City (USA)

G-CIVG was on that route on 26th; G-CIVB was on that route on 27th.

IVG went from the Landor livery straight into ‘Union Flag’. As the aircraft in the photos is in the ‘Chelsea Rose’ livery, I...

Re: BA 747-400 Waves of the City (USA)

G-CIVB departed LHR for NBO on 27th April 2002. Providing it returned on the same day (i.e., departed NBO before midnight) then I think we have your aircraft!

Re: BA 747-400 Waves of the City (USA)

According to Wikipedia, there were seven.

G-BNLA, G-BNLL, G-BYGA, G-BYGC, G-BYGF, G-CIVA and G-CIVB.

If you have the date, I might be able to narrow it down to a particular aircraft for you.

Re: BA 747-400 Waves of the City (USA)

Waves is one of my favourite Utopia liveries, so I would keep them both - it’s interesting to see the variations in the two tails.

Re: BA 767-300 Delftblue Daybreak (Netherlands)

That might have been me - I used to fly the LHR-BWI route very regularly!

Great work on this one John, the decals look very crisp. There were certainly a lot of variations on this particular...

Re: Rainy weekend project - "L'esprit Liberté"

Thanks John, much appreciated - that looks great on a 747. I want to attempt this one and ‘Golden Khokhloma’ at some point, but need to find a printer than can print the metallic gold… they exist,...

Re: Rainy weekend project - "L'esprit Liberté"

I like them, but as you know I’m very biased! ;)

Do you have any other pictures of ‘Sterntaler’ and ‘Colour Down the Side’ please? I haven’t seen those two before on a 747 and they both look great.

Re: Just to annoy Maggie Thatcher some more..

Very nice work John, I especially like the ‘Flowers of Mazowsze‘ but ‘Grand Union’ looks good too.

Re: Any British Airways World Tails!

I’ve had some success with this request, so bumping it back up.

In particular, I am looking for:

Cityflyer RJ100’s
747-436 G-BNLS (Wunala Dreaming)

Any other world tails considered!

Re: Procrastinating and looking for input.

I prefer option 1 on the Tristar, but getting decals to conform to those curves would test my patience and ability! I suspect option 2 is more achievable?

Great work though John, Chelsea Rose...

Re: Any British Airways World Tails!

I could be interested in those!

What tails are they? (I’m guessing ‘Animals and Trees’ and ‘Rendezvous’)
Also, what condition are they in?

Thanks,

Matt
