Re: Photos Gemini200 Southwest B737-700 N708SW

Re: pax window location on B737 family. From the drawings and photos of 1:1 a/c, a good visual check is: the top edge of the line of windows should align with the half-height point of the rear...

Re: JC Wings Blank Models

Non-acetone nail polish remover works quite well to remove tampo's, but be very careful near the details you wish to leave intact. Use a mask if possible.
I'm taking a 1:200 Lufthansa 747-8 and...

Re: 1/200 Delta 717

IranAir4Ever - Great job! What gear did you use? Hogan 737 or? I have same idea for some of the
"gearless" 1:200 a/c which are good molds, paint and livery. Thanks

Re: New arrival western models c46 quebecair

Strange to have such a high-gloss finish, even on bare metal. Seems to be both poor initial research and production quality control...a shame, as overall shape seems okay.
Used to have the Western...

Re: Visit Dai Kong hobby store & B748-I or F

Anyone know if Hogan and Herpa are sharing the same molds? And what the next livery might be after Boeing House, Lufthansa and BA freighter? Would a producer take a chance on a livery/airline** which...

Re: More 1/200 Hogan P-3C Orions

DiecastAirplane.com shows several 1:200 Orions by Hogan and InFlight in the $80 range...several USN liveries, but no NOAA...yet.

Re: Herpa 1:200 AI 787 livery?

Addendum...from the model pix, either the pax windows are a bit low or the windscreen is a bit high; hard to tell without having the item in-hand. Just my add'l. $0.02

Re: Herpa 1:200 AI 787 livery?

The finish looks pearlescent, like Virgin, which is certainly not the correct white. BTW, the top edge of the windscreen's side window top rear corner should be very closely aligned with the top edge...

Re: 1:200 B707-320 opinions

To anyone who read my post above...received an answer from Skymarks. It will be 1:150, not a new tool. :-( The online remarks I've seen re: 1:200 are in error. Guess I'll revert to a 1:144 kit...

1:200 B707-320 opinions

Hello fellow enthusiasts -
I collect Air France models; over its long existence, I think AF has operated the widest variety of pax aircraft of any airline; I may be mistaken but it's too late to...

Re: Gemini Jets 1:200 KC-135R Arrival!!

Agreed, the entire nose area (forward of where a front pax door would be) looks off. The contours both above the windscreen and where the anti-glare panel is, are too convex, curvy. I hope the coming...

787-8 and 747-8/8F wings, on-ground "droop?"

Does any producer offer the un-stressed wing on either of these two aircraft? It looks like Gemini might have this configuration. In 1:1 scale, I believe the 787 tips are about even with the top of...

Re: Boeing 727 large scale kit

B707-320 mold/tool?

Wondering if the recent AV200 707's use an Inflight tool or?? Is there more than one toolset in use for 1:200 707's? If so, which is the best, and are the windscreen decals placed correctly? Just...

B-787 wing upswept or drooped?

In the 1:200 B787 world, do any of the available models have the static/on ground wing configuration? The ones I've seen or have all appear to have the upswept, in-flight wing. Personally. I think in...

Re: Official response to what happened to the Eagle ERJ models.

Beg to differ with you about complex tampo prints on 1:43 car models. The racing and rally versions have LOTS of multi-color, detailed tampos. If you're referring to street versions only, agreed,...

Re: 1:200 and 1:400 (Regrets) "I shouldn't have sold that model."

I regret selling a Western 1:200 Air France Deux Ponts Breguet 763, a few years ago...now that I'm slowly gathering a fleet of Air France aircraft from the 1930's through latest types (1:144 and...

Hogan (or Socatec?) 1:200 A320 retro Air France

Can anyone provide a part number for the rumored/announced A320 in
the retro Air France livery? Any sources yet? Will it be an Air France shop
only? Thanks for any replies and leads! I WANT one!

Re: Hogan 787 NWA

I agree that the Herpa 1:200 appears correct, or very close to it, for a static, on-ground 787. The Hogan 1:200 which I have appears to have wings molded in the quite flexed, in-flight position. I...

Re: Hogan 787 NWA

The 787 wings ARE quite flexed in flight. The tips are well above the top of fuselage, perhaps 4-6 feet. On the ground in static (unfueled?) position, they are about 4 ft. below the top of fuselage....

Re: Observations on two B787-8's

Wing bending...will let you know. To assure L&R matching "droop," I'll make a wood jig to hold the wing and let it cool until set, so to speak. The ABS plastic (I think) used in these models has a...

Observations on two B787-8's

A couple days ago, two B787-8’s landed on my porch; a Hogan w/gear in Northwest livery and a Skymarks AeroMexico in flight. This is a big bird, about the size of an A330-200! Comments:

The...

Re: JXL101/103 - PSA BAe 146-100/200

Agreed about join line. Has anyone tried white tub caulk, or any white filler,
to suppress the valley? That is, without re-painting. Otherwise looks pretty nice. Will await other liveries though.

Re: 1:200 propliners?

Thanks for all the replies. I see that Western make a bunch of DC-4's, but waaay too dear for me. GB£110 is US$217 plus cross-pond shipping. Ouch!!!! Maybe I'll have do some AF with 1:144 plastic...

1:200 propliners?

Does anyone know of a producer of DC-4's or -6's in this scale? For an Air France fleet project. Cottage industry resin? Maybe even a toy of near-scale which could be re-painted and decaled...
