Agree. The nose cone is not looking very convincing when compare to the real plane :eek:. HM should have been made it just one piece. I like the model but but the nose cone is kind of ruin it for me.

Both have pros & cons and not perfect :). So if you like the F14 buy both for your collection, otherwise pick the one that has the paint scheme/markings that you like.

They are still in excellent shape as they are not too old ( only issue is dust). The oldest model that I built was 6 years ago.

I do collect diecast planes but I prefer accurately built plastic kit model all the way. After all these are scale modes (diecast &plastic) not toys and not meant to be played with.

Like Tomcat mentioned it could be from Hasegawa too.

The Revell kit does come with gears but I chose to build it without. The stand is from a Witty wing model.

Talking about Roma I've just came back from 2 weeks vacation in Europe and had the chance to visit the coliseum & Vatican and oh boy they were magnificent....I just have no words to describe it.....

The Trumpeter kit also comes with markings for the Chile Air Force. I was in Vietnam ~ 10 years ago and saw this little jet on display at a museum :) .

Custom decals are hard to find and very expensive with shipping if you live outside US. I paid a small fortune for my Skyraider VNAF...
