Wow, last year I tried selling 10 Herpa Display cases but there was no interest at all, so I destroyed them.

I tried for months and nothing.

Yes, I tried but if the collecting community does not recognize the value of the items, I cant keep them for ever so I destroyed them. I think I was selling them at $3 a piece plus actual chipping cost to help fellow collectors. I had about 20 of these, as I thought they were great. It was six months that I tried on eBay and W900 and NADA, so they went into a big hole in the ground and covered up for the next 1,000 years or so!

I am getting older and want less clutter, that is why I am also selling off my 3,000 model collection. I will sell models at discounts but wont give them away. If I don't sell the models for their value I will also destroy them. This also helps the hobby and it makes some models more scarce and hopefully increase the value for those collectors who have those models.

Smell what you like, but that is what I do! There are posts from last year on W900 about me destroying them, I do not keep stuff laying around and if there is no market for an item I toss them.

I gave myself three years to sell 3,000 models from my personal collection. I worked hard to find the best models and I looked after them. I have sold two thirds of them and I am half way there. As I said I wont give them away and my prices are mostly what I paid for them, If I don't sell them, I will toss them as I hate eBay and its a lot of effort selling models and I go out of my way to save buyers money on postage and customs etc so ya if the community does not recognize that, then I will create an accident scene at one of my airports and bust them up and then take pictures

I am really sad to hear that, I sincerely hope you can sell the model successfully in the near future.

If you are in the Calgary area , I know a few collectors there, that would take any unwanted models and stands from you.
