Exclamation Corgi 1:72 ‘POS’ Lancaster R5868 (AA32601)

Here is your opportunity to snag one of the most sought after Corgi 1:72 Lancasters -- the magnificent ‘S-Sugar’ Lancaster, which is modelled after the actual war survivor on display at RAF Hendon.

The Model:
This was the first release of Corgi’s Lancaster line that appeared around 2001. I bought it from a vendor brand new.

Condition:
This model is in ‘near-mint' condition. I would classify it as ‘mint’ if it had never been displayed, but I did have it on display for almost a year when I first bought it. The model, though, has absolutely NO marks; is in COMPLETE condition (all the fine aerials, balances, and wing actuators); has all the options for landing gear up or down; and has the stand.

The styro liner has been relieved in order to accommodate the model sitting in the box with the landing gear down, should one wish to store it this way. This is visible in the open box photo. The box itself is in crisp condition, but is a bit soft looking at the ends, as visible in the final photo. That said, the structural integrity of the box is still extremely solid.

The photos here are of my actual model offered, and were shot just a few days before this posting. If you would like to see the LARGER version of any of these images, PM me and I can email the ones you want.

Inquiries:
I will entertain serious inquiries from Canada, the U.S.A., and the U.K. Please be advised that the box is large, and the model is quite heavy, so shipping could be pricey, depending where you are. I would consider shipping this Canada Post (with tracking & insurance), but I’d feel more confidant of a safe arrival if this went FedEx. Ultimately, it is your call.

If you are interested, please PM your inquires. A shipping quote can be obtained once I know where you are. Thanx for looking!!

Being in the Advertising & Design world all of my life, 'POS' always meant 'Point of Sale' to me.

Well, these DO command a good price wherever they get listed, largely because of their rarity, but also because of the actual aircraft's provenance. But yes -- I've seen one or two recently listed as NOSS (New Old Store Stock) on evilBay in the $600 Cdn (each) range. Yes, absurd, but someone will pay it. The 'good news' here is, I'm not offering this on evilBay. Yet.

Regardless, it is one gorgeous model, that's for sure.

If anyone wanted this model in the UK and does not want the shipping charges from Canada, I also have one for sale.

Good to know, Adrian. Overseas shipping can be beastly with these things, given the model alone apparently weighs in the vicinity of 3.0-3.5 lbs. Or so I'm told. My offering would likely best suit a North American buyer, unless a brave antipodean wants it.

I can say, though, whoever steps up to purchase this one will receive it in a very stout double-walled industrial-strength corrugated container, with the boxed model coddled in bubble wrap. I pack my shipments to 'arrive alive', and so far, I've been told they do.

Just a note to our American friends: I'm selling this from Toronto, CANADA, and in Canadian dollars. I'm not sure if you're aware, but your dollar buys around $1.30 here.

Just thought you might like to know, as it is a great time to scoop this classic . . .

Cool Re: Corgi 1:72 ‘POS’ Lancaster R5868 (AA32601)

I forgot to mention: This Lancaster can also be displayed with its 1:72 version of that legendary 33 foot long bomb-bay either open or closed -- on or off the stand. The bomb-bay doors are spring activated for crisp operation.

You don't want to miss this rarity!

Sorry . . . I don't have any B-17's in my collection.

BUT . . . as it turns out, my buyer just informed me he has to back out, so it looks like this PO•S Lancaster is still FOR SALE, in the event anyone is interested. PM me with inquiries, please.

I wish I could afford it as I LOVE LOVE this machine especially after seeing it in person two weeks ago. But alas, there are others on here who we promised money to first.

But it would be good to get it in the future since no Postage would be necessary

Drop me a PM if you'd care to casually discuss options. No pressure.

Cool Re: Corgi 1:72 ‘POS’ Lancaster R5868 (AA32601)

Just for those who may not have seen any images of the 'actual' PO•S Lancaster in the Museum at RAF Hendon, below is what it looks like. For the record, this is the actual Lancaster bomber that successfully flew 137 bombing missions over Germany and 'survived to tell the tale' -- not another one made up of pieces from others/wrecks/etc., and painted up to look like it.
