Call u me, why do you do so many things on behalf of a "friend"? Every other post, you're either asking a question for a "friend" or selling models for a "friend"...

I agree with Mike, this sale seems suspicious...............I believe this "friend" might be callume himself.

I can appreciate your enthusiasm for the hobby Callum, but details like "...sale for a friend" really isn't needed and throws up a big red flag for potential buyers.

I see you already have an account, so why dont you do it yourself? Or just another account created by callum to 'validate' his sales

Dude this all sounds really bad! Does not have the time? That's is ridiculous, if someone is determined to sell something they will do all they can in their power.

Btw, JCW is not the manufacture of the UPS A300, it is infact Gemini.

That's not the problem.. It's just all in all a very weird situation like I mentioned. I understand of someone does not have an account and does not wish to, but to have one is just...well explainable.
I was thinking of the NC ones, my bad.

For you conspiracy theorists, I suggest you take a look at the post of mine from July 2012 that includes photos of my collection, and associated DAC member comments. Are you suggesting that Callum, on a premeditated basis posted that message (at the age of twelve) depicting tens of thousands of Dollars of customized models so that he could sell the models he has listed on this and related threads two years hence?

Why did I sell the AerLingus white top? Because I had Martin Beacom make me a green top which were the colors this fin wore when I flew her. The Virgin 747 with the painter? Because I got one without from Martin Beacom, again, these being the precise colors this girl wore when I flew her. The Olympic 747? Because I had Martin Beacom make me a custom one of SX-OAB in the colors (single blue tone) - as she wore when I flew on her. And on and on the list goes, nothing more complicated, or devious than models I no longer want.

I have bought from many of you on this forum, and I can confirm Callum's story is true.

As to why he is doing this, I suspect it was principally for a spare LH 744 I had and which he has now paid off through earning commissions helping me, and the potential he is now begun realizing of earning even more cash. For me, I don't have the time, nor the energy to list, pack, ship etc. these models, but I sure do have the inclination to support an intelligent, resourceful, and entrepreneurial 14 year old who shows great interest in an industry I have spent my life loving, and my career working in.

Bravo Callum, and shame on those that would give a 14 year old a hard time!

Indeed, I also received the KLM 737-800 from the collection of his friend.

Callum is very trustable and a very good seller!

I don't understand the fuss over Callume either, I've bought and sold to him several time in the past year, he's just a young enthusiast who is enjoying the hobby, for a 14 year old he is very trustworthy and I felt more confident trading with him than with many adults!

I can say that when I purchased my 2 models from him recently, there was some skepticism as it was a 3rd party sale. I had to pay the seller by paypal as well. But in the end I got the models and they were in great shape.

I figured it was a seller who may have some years collecting and not internet savvy, or a new forum member with no posts or feedback for sales. Once callum put his name on it, you buy from him .... and his previous experiences with members here. I know I wouldn't put my name on anything untrustworthy.

I made my decision to buy based on previous feedback from other members who had no complaints about callum and had received there models.

As this young guy is 14, he has found a way to subsidize his hobby. In most places you can't even work at 14 years of age. If he has found a way to make some income to sell some models and make his ever growing collection bigger, then good for him.

In the end, one bad sell - or one bad model shipped would pooch him and his credibility and that all seems to be in tact at this point. To me he was just helping someone else.

I do understand what some of you are saying, but in the end he was straight forward stating he is helping someone and that should be considered. There is no confusion or any statements being made that make what he's saying untrustworthy. He puts it out there right away and its up to the buyer to make the decision of purchase.

Anyways, just my thoughts.

People need to stop busting his balls, he is a legit seller, a legit collector and is doing this for a friend. I also happen to have sold models for a friend before who asked me because he doesn't have time or isn't very tech friendly.

I hire a local friend who is in high school to inventory my collection from time to time mainly because it helps me out with saving time and I know I'm helping him out with some extra earning money. People doing favors for friends is far from "ridiculous."

Thanks for clearing it up, I think most people are just suspicious due to more than just one 'selling for a friend thread'. But since you have provided the explanation that settles it. Free bump~~

Ummm, I'd consider bidding on ne or two of those if the shipping charges weren't in the hundreds of dollars to North America! Jumblies and N H Norton manage it for between $8.00-$16.00 regularly.

Sorry, honestly Mr Callum, you're doing an amazing job for a kid!

Sellers like you perhaps, could ring straight-up 'HONESTY' to those cut-throat, manipulative adult sellers!

So keep it up.

But I ship well fully padded
Shipping is always tracked and insured aswell that's why it is higher
These companies always will let you off some postage as they are big businesses but with me I'm a lone seller who needs to cover the cost of everything there otherwise I have to dig into my money which is unfair
If you PM me what you may buy I can sort you out a reasonable price

I don't understand
These are rare models here and no bids are coming at very low starting bids
Is the only reason shipping charges?
Please make me an offer

I will be in the US in a few weeks and if shipping charges are prohibitive as currently offered by Callum, I will happily ship them at cost from Florida via FedEx Ground around July 20, but no later than July 25.

SIMPLE really callume. a lot of collectors on here probably already HAVE these models. secondly, like me, there are lot of ebayers leave to the last 10 seconds to bid. in hope of getting a bargain! plus, just because its rare DOES NOT guarantee a high price! a LOT of models on ebay atm are going dirt cheap, even a lot of rare ones. one guy has had a inflight PAN AM DC-8 go UNSOLD @ $150 start THREE TIMES already! these were fetching $400-700 less than 2 years ago. I cannot even get a bid on my jc cwx 773 awc @ £48.95 start. £30 below retail shop price!!

Ok, am I missing something here? Where are the models? Are they in Canada? Why do they have enormous charges in Pounds - is that shipping from the UK? So you ship them to Callum to ship where they are sold to?

Why not just list them on ebay.com with the ship from address in BC Canada? You would have much lower shipping charges and attract more buyers in the US? Can someone please tell me if I am missing something?

I have said many times I have these models with me in London as the person I'm selling them for sent them to me
I have all models on ebay.co.uk
My friend is off to the US in less than a months time and will help people out to save postage unless you want to pay full postage
No confusion there
Are you interested?

Widebody - not so complicated if you involve the concept of air travel, and the reality that these models (and even people!) in 2014 can be rapidly transported to different locations around the globe in man made machines known as aircraft. The models are with Callum in the UK, I have offered to ship them from the US, and now I will add my willingness to also ship them from Canada in the coming weeks.

Ok thanks for clarifying - this whole thing IS as dumb as I thought.

Having Callum sell them for you and you fly them back and forth is soooo much easier than selling them yourself. Well good luck my friend!

Widebody, your alarm over what is a straight-forward exercise is most amusing.

In any event, those that have already bought from Callum have expressed satisfaction with the transaction, and this will continue to be the case whether the purchaser wishes their models to be shipped from the UK by Callum, or by me when I am in the US, and Canada in the coming weeks.

I was just trying to suggest that you guys sell them on eBay.com when you both went apoplectic. If you do sell on eBay.com and change the shipping from address to Canada then you might get more bids especially from the US since the shipping would not be astronomical.

Like I said best of luck!

I can only say from Canada for a short amount of time say 3 weeks or so until he goes away as he can take the models then
And would it not cost me to relist every model just to go on the US version?
Putting in the description would be easier

...I've bought a few models now off Callum and he ships quickly and with all due care ..... very professional to say the least ......

...thanks Callum ........and I admire you assisting others with the sale of their models (including photographing them) ...... I for one can understand the issues of being 'time restricted' and 'technologically disadvantaged' .....kudos to you on your helpfulness, resourcefulness and tenacity ..........
