Default 1/50 United 747-400

Hi all, long time no post. I recently acquired this 1/50 UA 744 in battleship colours. It's in pretty decent condition for its age and scale. People I got it from had no idea the wings came off lol Not sure of the brand, Westway models perhaps? It doesn't have a base (hence the bed shots) but we are working on having one of my boyfriend's buddies weld us one. Considering bringing it to the EWR model show to see if anyone wants to trade for an MD-11 of the same scale Any help on manufacturer would be appreciated !

such a fantastic model! 100% Westway! The address for Westway was woodburn green (as seen on your label) i guess at some point but now its Ramsgate which is about 3 hours away from Woodburn Green.

i had the 1/50 Pacmin version with original box and stand. It had all the wings removable. Box was massive though and i had no space to store it so sold it off.

Now i wish i didnt but, that box was 60x24x24 and an eyesore in the living room as it was too massive for any closets in my small apt lol.

Nice!! I didn't think these came with a box of any kind, to be honest. I totally get the spacing issue; my old apartment I was lucky enough to have a 10x10 space in the basement to store my stuff. It was packed with airplane model boxes and nothing else though

Hello Giratina,

That's an interesting vintage model airplane for sure.

In regard to a tripod stand, you can purchase one from PacMin, shown below:

https://pacminmodelshop.com/collecti...placement-base

They offer three (3) different sizes of tripod stands. Am confident that one of them should work out for you just fine.

Might just need a metal pins welded to the tope of the stand, so that it connects to the underside of the model's fuselage.

Hope that this info helps.
