To Boldly Go Where No.............................
No collector has gone before!! my new toy 1/600 PLATMATES USS ENTERPRISE NCC-1701 with lights. from the film STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS. Got this from an ebayer GRUMPYOLDSTEVE who converts playmates models with cheap weak Chinese lights and wiring with battery power, to proper mains power lighting that can stay on for hours. length is about 2 feet long, and a foot high. awesome model this. he has done a VOYAGER, EXCELSIOR, KLINGON BIRD OF PREY, and MILLENIUM FALCON amongst others and does a brilliant job on them.
Done a video clip. apologies for some crackling sound.

Wow! That’s just stunning. The work that must gone into that beauty, you must be very pleased with it. Love the strobe lights too. So the secrets out now Robert, you’re been a closet ‘Trekkie’ all along.
Neil.

BUSTED!! Yeah a big fan.
it was just £150!. check out his truly AMAZING collection below. he has even done the DELOREAN, KITT CAR, GHOSTBUSTERS and CHRISTINE cars from the films.

For all the problems with the Star Trek reboot films, their design that re-imagines the original Enterprise is very well done. The model looks great with those lights! I have a Schabak 747 in 1:600. When compared to your model there, it really emphasizes just how enormous the Enterprise is supposed to be!

Ah, the original D7 Klingon battle cruiser! Other than the flying saucer from The Invaders TV show, that Klingon ship is my all time favourite. BTW, on YouTube there are some great lighting jobs done on that Invaders model too.

what's with the EEEEKK Adrian? the kits alone are up to £90! then 6 weeks to build and replace all cheap chinses wiring with proper LED - STROBE lights. and scratch build the circuit board. and you pay +£30+ for a little 3 to 4 inch 1/400 737/757, and £50 for a 747. which is usually FLAWED!
model is actually 1/500, not 1/600. here is his ebay description.
Star Trek into Darkness model kit 1/500 Built and Lit with power adapter and sfx activated on the base there is about 10 different movie quotes from the star trek into darkness films
i build each model different some i keep some i rebuild some i get to pass on this is one i got to build a new one and i have no use for two
All works fine the lighting is all custom made even the circuit boards used for the flashing and the weapons it took about 6 weeks to build and the photos and videos don't do the model justice this model is a one off and there's not another like it its all custom made not copied of any other and all parts are high quality and British sourced The model has had several coats of varnish to protect the paint work i have decided to build another and have no use for two. Model will be cleaned before shipping and if you need to clean it in the future then it can be done with a soft paint brush or a soft cloth
