Default Aeronaves De Mexico DC8-63

Aeronaves De Mexico DC8-63. Resin and scale 1:50. Got this one also in about 1985 and after 24 years in storage it is going to hang in my garage along with a Lufthansa 747 and an SAS DC-10.

Another excellent model! Good to get these out of the hangar and into the air again...but don't let them sit out in the garage during the winter..they wont look like this good on the other end.

Beautiful model and livery. Is it a Pacmin?
If too hot in the garage will damage the model as well. Hang her inside

That’s a real gem! 1/50 scale makes those ‘stretched eights’ an impressive model. Personally I don’t think I’d be inclined to hang that beauty in the garage. Some years ago, a friend of mine lost a beautiful 1/50 Skyland DC10 to a snapped piece of nylon line he’d used to hang the model in his garage. Put me off the idea for life!

This one appears to be an original DFM....they switched to making resin composition marketing models with the intro of the stretch 8....I think they discovered that it was too costly or difficult to produce these "super-dupers" in aluminum (speculation on my part)

Thanks for the cautions about my garage. It is climate controlled; airplanes will be OK.

The model has a wood stand and the McD/D corporate markings on DC-8-63 ID plate make it appear to be a corporate model. It is huge but very easy to lift. I do have some 1:50 die cast regular DC-8s from Douglas and of course they're heavy. I don't know if I could manage this stretch if it was aluminum instead of resin.
