Default Question for Lintoy collectors

I picked up a lot of Lintoy a few weeks ago because it had some SAA liveries in it. To my surprise, the lot also included a “mini” SAA 727. I have never seen these “mini” Lintoy before. I have attached photos of the “normal” Lintoy and the “mini” Lintoy. Does anyone k ow how common these “minis” are? If you have some could you show them? I had not noticed them until this lot of Lintoy arrived. Thank you all in advance!

More photos... the “mini” is very small compared to the “normal” one

I didn't know it at the time, but when I was 10-12 years old these Lintoy airplanes were my toys of choice and my first attempt in collecting airplane models. I have no idea what ever happened to my collection.

They were around in the 1970s and these toy planes were created and produced by Lintoy in Hong Kong and later Singapore.

Lintoy produced the toy airplanes and they were later distributed by Bachmann/Corgi in the UK and Ertl in the United States. They were all marked Lintoy on the bottom no matter who distributed them.

They are very collectible, especially in the original bubble packs or the hard clear plastic box in the bubble wraps.

The Corgi Lintoy were my first aircraft collection too. It was 1978 and I was on holiday in Canada, getting there had been my first flight and we flew on a CP Air 747. To my excitement I spotted a display of these models in a WALCO store in Kingston Ontario and it included a CP Air 747. It became my No1 obejective thoughtout this holiday to track these models down as they were all sold out in that WALCO store and they wouldn't sell the display models. I managed to find them instock in a Simpsons Sears Dept store in Toronto, I picked up:-

British Airways 747
British Airways VC10
Air Canada 747
Wardair 747
CP Air 747
American Airlines DC10

Then I managed to find Air Canada L1011, DC8, 727 and DC9 in a 'Redmans Discount' Store in Sutton Ontario.

Unfortunatley years later I gave them all away to a 'Charity toy Sale' and now I keep searching for them on ebay.

I have many LINTOY model's ..the Mini is very new to me . Wish I had those too . SAA is a tough find ...
The store mentioned above as WALCO ...wondering if he means Woolco here in CANADA?
I used to buy my planes from there as they seemed to be the only place to buy them back in the day . I too still seek and search out model's.
I giggle though as some of the examples on ebutt are so over priced at times !
Especially the model's that lack landing gear and Livery .
Always interested in seeing collection's from other collector's .. PEACE / BE SAFE YEG
Sorry for the lighting ..

Yes it was Woolco, getting mixed up with Walmart. Is Woolco still going. Anyway you have a great collection there and many of the ones I mentioned I see.

Back in the late 70s there used to be a huge Woolco store in Hatfield here in the U.K. They used to sell a huge range of items, including a big range of Aurora plastic kits. I bought a couple of their kits of the flying saucer from my fave sci-fi show The Invaders, I still have them. I seem to remember that this Woolco store even had a few 50cc mopeds that could be purchased ‘off the shelf’ Sadly it closed many years ago.
