Thanks for posting! Nice model. Question is, would you give up you entire collection just to have this one plane in your collection?

Also, regarding the people being 7/8ths to scale, I guess they even had fake news/advertising back then!

YES TAKE MY WHOLE COLLECTION AND GIVE ME THIS!

there was one on ebay several years ago but it was in house colors and missing wings and tail. still sold for about 5K.

As for the 7/8 scale people.....well that isnt off by much. Also, its like comparing 1/48 versus 1/50. also people vary in size therefore you can say the figure of the guy in 7/8 scale is really a shorter guy than the figure in 1/1 scale.

That is so cool! I like his comment 'even the children look well behaved in the cabin'. Excellent restoration work on a model that is over 60 years old. Thank you for sharing. T7

Hi stratoliner, this is the one you’re talking about....would like to know who is the actual owner and if he restore it.

I have a seller locally that has both the DC-8 (complete with everything) and a DC-9, same scale, full cutaways, also complete with wings, gear, etc

Both are in Douglas livery, and were built in house by Douglas.

Both are available for sale but are very expensive.

Real tomato ketchup Eddie?
Nothing but the best! "I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself, don't you, Clark?"
"you're the gourmet around here, Ed!"
