Default Please Stand and Welcome another Queen! QF 744

While attending a show this weekend, I came across this beauty in 1/100 scale by Atlantic Models. Having flown the QF 744 a few years back, I had to have it. No sales tax and no shipping was an incentive and a great price too as Atlantic Models made me an offer I could not refuse. The model was commissioned by one of their customers who backed out when it was finished. It goes great with my recent BA 744 acquisition.

Once a queen always a queen!

Congratulations Russ this is the big travel agent's scale for sure. If I can say just one thing and this is not to put you off and with this scale they usually go high on top of cabinets, but the rego on the top of the starboard wing needs to come off. It should only be on the underside of the port wing. However, as I say you are probably displaying high anyhow.

Great addition Russ

Very nice Russ. 1/100 is an nice scale for the 747 I think. Being an Atlantic model it痴 got to be one of the best out there. One thing though, my Queen of the skies is the A380, no question

Neil.

With all these advantages, you did well to acquire it; it's a beautiful model on that scale. With any luck, the next could be a Virgin Atlantic queen !

Hi Russ,

A very nice looking Atlantic Models Qantas 747 model for sure!

Also sounds like you got it for a very nice price, with no tax/no shipping cost, which only added to the positive incentives for the purchase of it.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

I had one and sold it...it was the one with the purple band around the tail. I know the current scheme one is out there as it is on display at the Delta Heritage Museum in Atlanta. They were made in small numbers..It is my most sought after model.

Yeah, I agree with Crownvic, the A380 doesn't have enough history to be the Queen, but it can be the Queen in your own eyes! I wouldn't even give it King status...maybe Princess!

Congrats on that fine acquisition. I am not going to lie... I am a little jealous.
