Default MD-11 House Colors

A few years ago I purchased an MD-11 in house colors. The model is yellowed and clearly on the older side. It's solid resin and has three mounting holes. The stand has two pins on it that go into the outer two holes, which are lined with a brass(?) tube. The middle hole is threaded. The model has a 12" wingspan which I believe would make it 1:170 scale. There are no manufacturer's markings or labels on the model or the stand. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight into what company made the model.

My money is on it being an older Pacmin, like the one in this picture.

Twins! Do you have any idea why the threaded middle mounting hole is there?

Thank you for your help!

The model was made by Pacific Miniatures (aka PacMin).

Perhaps Wesco? The model I have, which is a Wesco, has white engine pylons. I suspect Pacmin MD11 model's have silver engine pylons?

Could be a Wesco I guess. 1011Tristar, are the top surfaces of wings of your model all white? looks in your pics that the flap/ailerons are grey or silver. I’ve no idea ref the ‘extra hole’ in the underside. I used to own a PacMin Delta MD11 which had detachable wings, but yours is a one piece example.

MSR777 - the top surfaces of the wings are white, with some yellowing. The flaps / ailerons are decals and have yellowed over time. The engine pylons are white.

The mystery thickens My gut feeling still says Pacmin, especially if that stand is original and has always been with that model, which I suspect it probably has. I have this Wesco A300, and it has about half the weight of a comparable Pacmin model, the upper wing surfaces have decals also, the stand on it is original. BTW, what look like missing parts of some of the door outlines is due to the lighting. It’s one of my favourite models.

Unfortunately I can't confirm if the stand is original. Regarding the white vs. silver engine pylons, it's possible that Pacific Miniatures changed the color over time to make it more realistic.

Indeed they could have. It’s very likely an older Pacmin.
