Re: Air France agency model 747
Nice find. Yes, it could do with some TLC. Are the decals the ‘sticker’ type ones? If so, remove them prior to starting this cleaning process, shouldn’t be too difficult. Gently wipe the model all over with a mild detergent in warm water using a soft cloth. Wipe off and carefully dry the model with kitchen towel. Use a cotton bud to clean fans inside the engine intakes to get the dust out of them. Give it a polish with an ordinary spray furniture polish. Just spray a little of it onto the duster, better and less messy than spraying it directly onto the model itself. If the decals are those which are lacquered over like Space or Pacmin ones, then you’re into the refinishing realm. There are some members on here who are very good at doing that. There’s numerous after market decals out there, you should be able to find your favourite livery, or have them custom made. You could even print your own these days.
Hope that helps.
Neil.
