Default Air France Concorde scale 1:100 - HELP NEEDED

Just looking for some assistance ...and any guidance would be greatly appreciated

Looking to purchase an Air France Concorde scale 1:100 it would be a gift for a very close and dear friend.

And I am looking to see what is the best model to look at for the purchase at this scale in terms of : accuracy - detailing - finishing etc

During my search I have come across various versions such as:
Executive Series AIR FRANCE CONCORDE 1:100
TMC Pacific Modelworks Concorde Air France 1/100
Mastercraft Collection Concorde Air France – 1/100 scale

Some state they are resin made others are Mahogany/Resin -
and they all look the same to me except for the display of a wooden or metal stand.

I would really appreciate some guidance – in what area I should be looking to pursue and what to avoid .

Also I did find another version from Socatec that is a little different in the detailing that made me curious to research more.

If anyone is familiar with any these models please let me know ..I would be grateful for any insight that could be provided for this purchase

Thank You
Alex

Many years ago I bought some models from Graphideco in France, all in 1/100 scale.

I suggest you to contact them, graphideco.com
They make models for Airbus and ATR, there is an English version of their website.

I agree with the previous two posts. I personally have two Concordes, one is a 1/72 Space Models in the BA ‘Negus’ scheme, the other is a 1/200 version also Space Models, in the current BA livery. The old Executive Display Models used to make some lovely Concorde models in both BA Landor, and Air France colours, along with the ‘split’ BA Singapore livery. I’ve never seen a Pacmin one, so I can’t comment on them. I have physically handled a SOCATEC one. Graphideco models are very good, though I’ve never handled one myself. The Toys and Models company make some nice models, and I think have 1/100 BA and AF ones in their catalogue. Another choice is the French Pilot Station company, who also have the AF Concordes, but I believe they are wood.

Hope that helps, and I wish you well in your search.

Neil.

Just an Update ...and thank you all for the input and feedback ...It is greatly appreciated.

PacMin doesn't have any Concordes for sale - still waiting for a response from Graphideco.

However I came across a UK firm Bravo Delta Models - the pics on the site look fantastic.

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them

Cheers

A friend of mine has a beautiful Bravo Delta Vulcan bomber. They’re not cheap but some of their larger scale fighter jets with visible interiors are very nice indeed.

Thank you for the feed back Neil ...

It looks like it will be either a Socatec or Bravo Delta version.

No luck with PacMin and Graphideco wont sell unless I have written authorization from Air France.

Just wondering what your opinion of the Socatec version is? - detailing - finishing etc?

Thanks once again
Alex

Thank you for your kind words about my last B 727 ...

Difficult to give you a valid advice.

Be aware that Socatec does not produce or make anything, they buy models from other manufacturers and resell them.
The direct consequence of this is a significant increase in their retail price.

The Charlie Bravo model (€ 269) seems to be out of stock from Socatec but you can get it for the same price from shopping.airfrance.com, I am pretty sure it is the same model.

I left AF some 16 years ago and unfortunately, I can't give you more information about the products available from my airline.

I had a look at the Bravo Delta model, the cockpit area is better than the Charlie Bravo, it is a little bit more expensive but it would be my choice.

Just my opinion.

Thank you for the insight Jean Pierre regarding Socatec , it is greatly appreciated.

The detailing as you stated on the Bravo Delta Concorde is a lot better.

Might come back and ask your opinion on Air France Boeing 747-400 next

I’ve got a 1/72 Air Inter Caravelle 12. It’s labelled SOCATEC, but I guess made elsewhere.

Hello Alexander.

Maybe there is another option, go to FDM.
factorydirectmodels.com
The Air France Concorde looks very good, cockpit is better.
No idea about the price ...

Thank you Jean Pierre,

In your opinion between the FDM version & the Bravo Delta which one would be your first choice?

Really appreciate all your insight

I prefer the nose of the FDM version because the visor is flat and more accurate.

So my first choice would be FDM.

Have a look at the other models, they are all beautifully made.
The Beech Baron is gorgeous, very tempted, I have a few hours on the type.
