After lot of work with the interieur and the restauration of the heavy damaged nose by Ben Godlington in GB the TriStar is 99% finished, still missing the fanblades of No. 1 and 3.
The model is around 40 - 45 years old and stood some years at the entrance of the LTU headquarter at the hangar no. 8 at Düsseldorf Airport.
My plan was not to make a new model, It is over 40 years old and at some points you can see the age. But now after one year a very good and clean condition, enjoy the pictures.
Length ca 180cm, wingspan ca 160cm.
Best regards from Germany
Markus

Beautiful collection!
Love the Dleta L1011. Is that a cutaway?

Is that a Sands L-1011 in background?

Re: LTU TriStar cutaway 1/30 part 2

I did notice the cracks in the right cockpit window and left forward cutaway section remain.

As the model was repainted, why not replace the cracked windows with new plexiglass cutouts and then "weld" the plexi and sand it flush prior to painting?

Im currently trying to do that to my 747 model although there is more curvature on the hump of the 747 so it is more difficult to cut exact shapes than it is on the side of the L1011. although the left side seems more difficult as the panel has a broader opening however the right window seems smaller and more flat so it would be easier to cut to shape and paint over to blend in the fuselage.

The Delta 1011 is in 1/30, but not a cutaway.

The Sands Tristar is a 1/72 model, made from a Spacelmodels with livery made by Westwaymodels GB three or four years ago.
