Several years back I fine tuned my collecting focus to models of aircraft which I used to work around, fly on, or actually flew, or simply just dreamed of flying someday. Many are airlines I romanticized and remember taking trips as a kid. Some are aircraft I had a personal history working on the ramp around.
In 1979 I worked at a large FBO in Calgary and was fortunate to work around every conceivable type of aircraft. Some really made an impression on me and those aircraft are in my collection if I can find them. I have been very fortunate and lucky to find some very uncommon or dare I say rare aircraft models from my past.
Today I hit a home run with a model of a one of a kind corporate 1/50 scale Boeing 727 which I spent many hours servicing and had very fond memories of those times. I got to know the crews and was even invited to fly on it. It was on Kijiji and just a fluke that I saw it.
Here is the link to my website for more on the aircraft if your interested.
